Little known fact: Eaves coached the Hershey Bears for three years in the 90's. Led the division in ties every year.

I'm not watching or listening to the game and I knew that UW was going to: go into "not lose mode", play tight as hell, and give DU some great opportunities. Been that way in at the end of every close games since 06-07 or so.

Well, I guess I'm happy we got a point based on the first 57 minutes of the game. I'd like DU to look more like they played in the last 8 minutes. And thanks Juicy for preserving said tie!

What a save by Jussi near the end of the game.

Ugh. As a B-level goalie, that DU goal in the 3rd just plain sucked to watch. Even I know how to play that angle. Grrr.

Hell of a save by Olkinuora on Dahl in the OT though. Dahl looked like he lost it on his deke and just tried to push it by, but credit where credit is due, the goalie made a good save on a 1-0 opportunity with the game on the line.

Both goalies were tremendous and Joey with the big tying goal.

Gwoz post game notes:

  • Impressed with how Wisconsin played DU - they are tough and strong.
  • Pleased with the Pios finding a way to tie the game with how frustrating that Wisconsin made it. Wishes he could decline penalties now.
  • Gwoz agreed with Rycroft in that on the Power Play, we are looking for the perfect pass. Gwoz wants players to shoot and guys to drive for rebounds.
  • Gwoz is still talking about guys needing to shoot the puck and looking for rebounds.
  • Gwoz needs team to understand that there will be several of this kind of game coming up.
  • DU missed some great opportunities and he single out Tabrum in particular. Mentioned once again that guys need to shoot.
  • Sam Brittain is starting tomorrow night.
