Wisconsin at CC - Born Small... Now Huge... Winning... Bring it..!

Re: Wisconsin at CC - Born Small... Now Huge... Winning... Bring it..!

Wisconsin is going to be gassed, I see an easy CC win unfortunately.
CC isn't the type of team who gets easy wins, so I would expect another hard fought close game. Joe Howe really found his rhythm after the first period last night, so I'm hoping to see him carry that into tonight.

The key last night, IMO, was the fact that after Bucky went up 2-0, they had 4 straight PPs. A score on any of those probably ends CC's chances, but the PK for the Tigers came up HUGE and kept them in the game.

What gives you the thought that Wisconsin will be gassed.

Since I sat close to the Badger defensive end of the rink in OT Saturday I can tell you all five Badger skaters were seriously out of gas in that overtime. For one thing they got suck on the ice for too long due to that long CC attack deep in the Badger zone. You could just see that winnning goal happening. Having said that, Wisconsin will be just fine for the Sunday game. Which team digs deepest will win.

Go Tigers!!

The Badgers skaters definitely were gassed. The penalty killers were out there for a minute and a half while CC stayed in the zone. There were a few chances before the one that went in. Yeah, we definitely saw that goal coming.

The hockey gods have not been kind to CC in this series so far, but last night they overcame. Maybe tonight the puck luck will start to go their way, too.

Anyone know the TV options for this game? Fox College Picking up the game?

Why don't you come down and watch the game? I'm sure there are tickets available. Unless you’re planning to travel this could be your last chance at college hockey for the season.

@CCtig...I'll be the game tonight. Hope to see you there. What section are you in?

Comcast in Boston is showing that Game 3 of a WCHA playoff will be show on FCSC, however, it has a start time of 8:00 PM EDT, which is an hour before faceoff.

I believe that would have been the UAA-Minnesota Game 3. I don't think the UW-CC game is on TV.

CC played nearly perfect 0.500 hockey in the WCHA this season, right down to goals for and against (83-84). Wisconsin was almost as close in the perfect split world (0.482 win% and 75-72 WCHA GF-GA), and these two have split their four games this season. Something has to give tonight!

Re: Wisconsin at CC - Born Small... Now Huge... Winning... Bring it..!

Every teams top players play a lot. I'm not worried about our forwards, I'm worried about Schultz and Gardiner. Butters needs to play Johnson/Ramage/Simonelli/Faust more tonight if we want to win.

Just about time to head out to the arena. Should be a great battle. Good luck to both teams. It has been a fun series this weekend. Go Tigers!!

I have a feeling something is going to give too. I think the close games are over. One team is going to run away with this one. I hope it’s the Tigers.

It’s kind of shame for the rest of the WCHA fans that the only Sunday it’s going to be televised.

Bingo. That's what I was talking about. Smith/Murray/Zengerle will regularly get a couple minutes of rest, but Schultz and Gardiner (in a close game) seldom get much more than a minute off. That takes its toll!

I paid $8 for the live video feed and it still isn't working. Just says, "this media is not available." and thats it. Really, really irritated right now.

Well it was a great weekend of hockey and the series could have gone either way. Both teams gave it everything they had and should be proud of their efforts. It feels good to be on the winning side and headed to the Final Five. Congrats to CC and Wisconsin on a great series. I think this is best playoff series I have seen in person since the 1992 marathon series between CC and Duluth.
