May everyone on the east coast stay dry and thawed out. This looks like it could get very messy.


As for Chicagoland, it appears my efforts to keep the pipes from freezing will get a reprieve. A few more days of single digits highs and negative lows, and then Sunday we'll be at 32 degrees. Next Wednesday is forecast to be 42, a sixty degree swing in just 10 days. :eek:

12 here this morning. I warmed up Dr. Mrs' car while she was in the shower and was too lazy to put on a shirt. She looked at me like I had super powers. Sometimes it's fun having an Arizona bride.

OTOH, she goes running when it's 102.

It took a minute for me to get the correct understanding of this story. Im good now tho.

It wont get over 30 here today. But hey, 50s on Monday!

We got about 14" in the dog kennel but it's hard to measure anywhere else because the wind has blown it all over. It was 17, down to 15 in 30 minutes and is estimated to be -10 tonight and -15 Saturday. Looking back at my itinerary, I'd be spending this winter in Rome where it is 65 and sunny today; but noooooo. I'm stuck here where the temperature has dropped another degree while I wrote this.

It’s official: Boston has broken its record for highest tide ever recorded, the National Weather Service says.

The weather service says the tide reached 15.16 feet in the city on Thursday. The old record was 15.1 feet during the Blizzard of 1978.
