There is at least one DC resident who likes the snow.

Yup. Was the best now is like all the rest.Weather Underground used to be my favorite site on the internet. Then GD TWC bought it and spray farted all over it. It's nowhere near as good as it used to be.

You still mounting up snow Joe? We struck a bit of luck for a few hours as we touched 33 degrees and mixed in a little rain so I think we are only up to 15" but the winds here by the shore are wicked. No way to really measure as we have bare spots and drifts near them over 4 feet. Our cars are buried but part of the driveway has no snow. Fingers still crossed we keep power as 30% of the town is totally out.Do I Dread the Broken Lizzard?
Still snowing quite heavily here, over 24" and drifts are enormous. We're supposed to get it until 6 and at 2 inches an hour we 'll be right around 30.
If I'm reading the charts right Richmond is approaching 40. That cant possibly be right, right?

DrD. Yep!
Came down like there was no tomorrow in the afternoon and we're up to 24", but drifts are a lot higher. All the shoveling I did right after noon seems to have gone for naught.
I think I'll be dug out by Tuesday. I refuse to bust my arse.
As of 3pm, Richmond has had 9" so far.
Jen tried out something that actually worked. She put a ton of pet safe salt crystals down in some areas when the storm first started. Eventually the areas did get covered but it took many hours and most of the early stuff just melted and could not stick. Even the early drifting did not stick. By now those areas are covered but only have a more manageable 4+ inches on them. i would never have thought that would work. We are still snowing here and have to get through about 6 more hours of this according to the local NJ TV station. We have had bigger and worse storms but i find as i get older, I tolerate them far less.
Snow has now stopped. We have 30 inches, pretty much exactly. There's no drifting yet because we got very lucky -- no ice and no wind.
Yep 32" at POR, MD.WaPo says 32"
Yep 32" at POR, MD.

But right now they have a "whole lot of shakin' going on". With deference to Jerry LeeFor comparison, Anchorage, AK has recorded 25.8 inches of snow ALL WINTER.
