Winter 2015 - boom or snow job?

Re: Winter 2015 - boom or snow job?

So they can get a couple of those fancy diesel snow removers like what Chicago has and run them 24/7 along with all of the other snow equipment they have for the regular trains. Most of NYC's system is underground anyways and it wouldn't be that big of a deal to have a train roll along a line about every hour or so just to plow snow off of the tracks when you're getting hammered with heavy up to 3 inches of snow in a hour snowfall.

The Twin Cities does this with light rail. IIRC, they actually run more frequently during heavy snow.

Re: Winter 2015 - boom or snow job?

Wait, so NYC got a foot of snow and you can be fined $300 for violating the travel ban? Wow.

Don't forget the New York City-state mandatory surcharge on top of that.

I don't know why you're complaining, though. It's your guys that put this bull**** into place.

Re: Winter 2015 - boom or snow job?

Winter Storm Warning for Tomorrow, another 8 to 12 forecasted. Last saturday I was cleaning up trees that got damaged in our surprise snow storm in early november, no snow on ground. This Saturday I will be plowing with over 2 ft on ground. Quite the change in a week

Re: Winter 2015 - boom or snow job?

We've had 43 inches in the last 10 days here. we had no snow on ground 10 days ago, now I have no place to put it. With a chance to get hammered again on thursday

Shouldn't this post be in the drinking thread? :)

Seriously - good luck. I went through that in 2010.

Re: Winter 2015 - boom or snow job?

We might another 2-5 by tomorrow. That would put us at 20-24 inches on the ground. I could see brown grass last Saturday night.

We have the chance for 1-2" of snow today. We already have 1-2" on the ground. When will this nightmare end?

normally I have Upper Midwest snow tArrogance, but I must admit, after seeing Weather Channel and News pics, Boston and nearby areas really did get hammered. wow.
