WHOSE SICK OF NIL LOADED B10 POACHING PROGRAMS???

Welcome to the reality of college sports in the NIL/portal era. Every college baseball and football game I've watched for the last year has had multiple players on their third and even fourth school. Minnesota State just lost their top d-man to the Gophers. Even in track & field, my granddaughter was being fairly heavily recruited. The couple of schools from "power conferences" that talked to her basically told her she should go to a mid-major school, put up numbers, and then transfer.

What's the old saying? Don't hate the player, hate the game.

This. And I'm wondering if the OP has ever heard of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Every year we all get brand new football and basketball teams. For us MAC fans, this whole thing is nothing more than another day that ends in "Y."

BIG teams are not poaching anyone, goodness. The only 2 guys who received any truly substantial NIL money were McKenna and Martone, and they came from the CHL. You overestimate the ability for BIG hockey programs to shell out cash when ADs have Football and Basketball beasts to feed. Those 2 sports take up 90% plus of any NIL capacity at Michigan, Ohio St., Michigan State, and Penn St. Minnesota and Wisconsin probably have a little more wiggle room because of their barn sizes and ability to actually turn a profit for their athletic departments....but...they don't have whale NIL donors like the other programs. WI is stuck building a massive football practice facility, 20 years late.

Maybe it's because BIG, NCHC, and HE are the top to bottom best conferences for pro style development?

From what I can see 19 B1G players went in the portal, 18 players in the portal ended up at B1G schools. 6 of those transfers moved from 1 B1G program to a different B1G program.

Wisconsin absolutely poached Compton and Michigan and MSU do it with frequency, the most obvious recent examples being Perron and Ralph last spring. It was widely reported that everyone on the team at North Dakota knew in January or February where Perron was going and for how much money when the portal opened. A Michigan assistant coach got into an also widely reported physical fight with another coach in Naples the year before about them poaching Eernisse.

It's not a matter of every player going to a Big Ten school being poached but saying it doesn't happen is just silly.

The best CCHA guys have been getting poached for years (see Eric Pohlcamp) and nobody ever said a thing other than “gee, too bad for you.” That it’s now starting to happen to non-CCHA programs and is suddenly cause for gnashing of teeth and crocodile tears is humorous. Welcome to the club. Your options are to buckle down and find ways to compete or complain and play the victim. Understand that if you go with the second option you won’t get any sympathy from the fans of CCHA teams. Do I wish it were different? Sure, but that ain’t the world we live in.
