Who are You Again? UNH Travels to East Lansing to Take On Sparty, 11/6-7

Re: Who are You Again? UNH Travels to East Lansing to Take On Sparty, 11/6-7

Meanwhile FSD has girls high school volleyball. Just shoot me and bury me in the backyard!

Unfortunately the volleyball game ended and we had to watch the hockey game.

MSU had scored 13 goals in 6 games before this weekend.

They scored a dozen goals in the last 27 hours

So UNH ties it up and MSUs next TWO shots end up in the back of the night. The exact same script as SLU and CLK. This D group has NOT been good, but right now only one of our goalies can make consistent saves. Let's hope Clark is healthy and plays many games in a row.

Watcher, you're exactly right. That's why bomber hockey can tout the Borek loss all he wants in the wake of Farabees decommitment - but this is the team Borek built. One step back to take two steps forward hopefully...

Nice of us to allow MSU to pad their scoring stats.

'Watcher stole my thunder. The UNH D is embarrassingly limited this season. The silver lining (or more likely the truly frightening thing) is this entire crew (sans Quast) will be back to form the core of next season's defense.

They fought so hard to even it up at 4-4 ... and then give it away a 3rd time. Disheartening for us I'm sure, but you can only imagine how it's playing in the locker room. Which of course points to yet another shortcoming ...

Edit - make that next, and final, THREE shots go in for MSU...

FIVE, that's right FIVE Spartans scored their first goals of the season this weekend

Some things never change ... UNH can't ever seem to beat Walshy when it counts (barring '02 HE title).

... and of course now I recall that was Timmy Whitehead - not the Downeast Dark Prince :o

Not the entirety, missing a Hurricane blueliner and guy that was relegated to watching...

It wasn't a shocking development to anyone that Pesce left a season early.

I'm curious about the "relegated" comment though. Are we talking about Foegele (quitter), Chanter (can't crack the current D-crew), or one of the newbie forwards who can't push their way into the line-up yet?

I don't want to denigrate Borek's recruitment prowess - only to fairly reflect it. As Dan has pointed out, this year's squad does not reflect too well on what Borek did in the last years of the preceding recruiting cycle.

Re: Who are You Again? UNH Travels to East Lansing to Take On Sparty, 11/6-7

I don't believe Richie Boyd played Saturday? Personally I think he belongs in the line up every game. Was talking about our D with another fan and they felt Quast is the "enforcer" type of player so he should play every game. The D is a big toss up anyway, not to belittle any of the players. And another thing I think; Matt Dawson should play on the top D pair with Cleland. Or is he 'not ready'. He hustles, can score goals, as well as any of them.

No reason the 'Cats can't bounce back and get it going. Even with the loss of Pesce, I'm just surprised we fared as poorly as we did this weekend...goal keeper injury or not. Still, I didn't watch both games in their entirety due to weekend conflicts, but it sounds like a total defensive collapse, right on through to Tirone.

Line changes: were there any and do we expect any? Vela on 4th line? hmmmmm. AC: get healthy please!

Sorry HR, but after reading your friend's assessment of Quast, it was hard to continue with the rest ...
