Refs take down UND player cop-style after a scrum. This could get really ugly, folks.

They really are solid but they look like they are experiencing a learning curve much like UND did last week when Dave closed the rink with an email and said "we will be breaking NCAA rules no one is allowed in during scheduled practices."

Exactly what Almington said last year while I was chatting with him about WI's woes. We had agreed that if everyone stayed, that in 2 years' time they'd be a top team.

you're right...and there they go again. man what a looooooooooong off-season this will be for UW hockey fans, especially considering there's only 1 player coming in next season that could make a difference. he won't be able to do it all on his own

Maybe, I'm not convinced that Eaves will ever be able to get this group to be anything more than marginally above average. Plenty of good individual pieces, but they just do not seem to fit together into a coherent unit. Personally, I have no confidence left that Eaves is capable of showing the flexibility to make this work. To many square pegs when Eaves system demands round pegs.

UW is a reload team and not a rebuild but coaching changes and injuries have masked that IMO.

When a team misses the NCAAs in 5 of 7 years, it is more than just changes in assistant coaches and injuries. At some point, a different excuse every season becomes to much of a coincidence. The fact is that IMHO EACH and EVERY team that Eaves had had at UW has underachieved given the raw talent level on the teams.
