Which team will hit The Wall today? Cry me a River (Falls)? SCORES 1/13/12

Re: Which team will hit The Wall today? Cry me a River (Falls)? SCORES 1/13/12

That goal by Moodie was kind of anti-climatic. He took a pretty hard shot on net and it must of hit someone in front as it died and trickled in. Whitelaw seemed to dislocate his shoulder after a pretty nasty hit above the slot. He came off the ice with his left arm dangling and was off the ice for 5-10 min. I thought that it couldn't be good news when I saw him go off like that. But, my hats off to Whitey that kid is tough as nails as he came right back out and put the Lakers on top with a timely goal. Jones made a series of flopping saves in the crease in the 2nd, which I think were the biggest plays of the game up to the Whitelaw goal. He played very well tonight in net and it is good to know we have a very capable back up. I was really impressed with the play of Kim-Swallow as he looked like a seasoned vet out there and he works hard. He reminds me of the likes of Musselwhite, Levy, and Kelly. Berra and Kim-Swallow I think will be big time contributors next season.

I was right behind the Oz bench. I think Whitelaw was just shaken up. He was more ****ed the he got taken down like that. Might also explain why he gave the floor leading to the locker room a nice gatorade bath on his way out. But I agree, the Moodie goal was a bit anti climactic. But a goal is a goal.

How did Curry look?

If I were scoring it like a boxing judge, I would say Oswego won period 1, Curry won period 2 and Oswego won period 3. Both teams were skating with a lot of energy for the first 10 minutes, but I think Oswego kept it up while Curry fell off a bit. Reverse that for the second period. Curry was definitely the better team. When Oswego went up 2-1, it just seemed like Curry started to play like a team that had lost 4 straight. They've had a very tough run, that's for sure.

I could have sworn I did. I would have picked Oswego. I have my sheet highlighted here next to my computer.

"Utica has had some big wins recently, but it hasn’t been against the strongest competition. Nonetheless, they are a team to be reckoned with. The Lakers lost last week, so they will be trying to avoid a two-game losing streak. I think they will avoid that streak, as I’m taking the home team."

No mention of Curry in that article, you make it seem as though Oswego is going straight from their loss from Nuemann to playing Utica.

How did Curry look?

They were quick and created a bunch of good chances, many of which Jones made good saves on but a lot more were totally wasted. They seemed to run out of gas in the third, and began to take some bad penalties. Oswego looked pretty awful for long stretches but did just enough to win the game which has become their trademark the last two seasons.

You're right. Got to lay off the vodka before I wrote those things...
