First dumb question of the night, when Lara Spencer asked the 9 year old best actress nominee:

Spencer: Now, you just got cast in the musical Annie, is that correct?

9 year old: Yes.

Spencer: Oh, so you can sing too?

The 9 year old should have said, "You don't get cast in Annie if you can't sing.

Totally ridiculous they stretch this out to an 8:30 start now. And you just know there will be 10 minutes of commercials between segments. :rolleyes:

I really dislike miss spencer, but to be fair, sometimes you do get cast when you can't sing, ask Russell Crowe, he got cast in Les Mis.

Yes and I believe last year they won best picture.

when I was a kid, all the Ian Flemming books were the rage. Everyone read them, way before the movies started coming out.
And Shirley Bassey, not bad for 70 years old.

I saw all the nominated short films, and curfew was the best, but none were as good as last year's nominees.

Also, I thought we all agreed Russell Crowe would never be allowed to sing again?

Every year it seems to get worse-I just look at it now as a 3+ hour commercial for films. At least some of the early comedy bits were not that bad. But they do drag it out as long as they can to give the awards most people want to know about at the latest hour possible.

Not...that....bad? Ugh. They are the reminders why I don't usually watch this crap.
