Re: Where'd ya go Joe?? any scores tonight 1-6-17

Platty scores that one in the first two minutes to make it 7-2 and you ask yourself, "Could this be the start of a comeback that is talked about for the next 30 years?…Nah." Well...

I came in when it was 2-1 and saw the next 5 goals. Davies seems like a bit of a scapegoat from what I'm seeing. Two deflections, two 2-on-1 one-timers that were poorly played by the defense (the second one was really just a beautiful play), and one play where Salvucci scored on a 1-on-3 because he was able to just skate around the defense and then get an uncontested rebound.

Welcome to our world. Don't get me wrong, Davies (and Brady) are not Finney, or Hince, or Chewy but this defense is just horrible. And now you've had 2 starters leave.

Plattsburgh has averaged over 50 shots on goal the past 2 games. And really outside of the Oswego game has either been right with and or had the edge in possession. I mean when was the last time someone put almost 50 on Norwich? And while I understand the whole "foot off the gas peddle", Plattsburgh had almost 30 before things got out of hand. I think it was 4 goals on 12 shots to Plattsburghs 1 goal on 28 shots when I tuned things out. What's more disturbing is the time of possession in most of these games. But then one mental mistake by the desense and the goalies are hung out to dry (2 on 1's, breakaways, guys left open in the slot). I get the whole "we are young" thing, but these are mistakes that should be corrected in high school, not college. The whole "comeback" is like wasted frosting on the cake cover....could have been so much better if it was on the cake and not the cover....no doubt Norwich lifted the gas, but like I said lets be honest...there wasn't a lot of gas to lift. 4 goals on 12 shots. They weren't taking Plattsburgh to the woodshed besides the number on the goal spot (yes I understand that's what matters in the W/L). Norwich finished their opportunities, period. Again, as I said last week, this defense is a smidge above a Junior defensive core right now with mediocre goaltending. Beating Plattsburgh, at this point, isn't a great feat. I'm just glad you all got to see our self implosion up close and personal that most of the Plattsburgh fans have been seeing all year.
