Short/Round
Since most people have transitioned away from CDs, I figured the new music thread should be a little more current.

Bob - Here is a recording of Round Here from Adam Duritz's previous band (The Himalayans). Different take than what ended up famous by the Counting Crows.

Right now my office iPod is playing a mix of The Del Fuegos, Drive By Truckers, Led Zep, The Cuban Cowboys and Billie Holiday.

I recently made a blues station on pandora that I listen to quite a bit at work (usual names on there like BB King, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Mayall, Taj Mahal etc., hope to learn some new ones). Pretty good there. In the car Ive been listening to some Ana Popovic (more blues). Wilco is eternally on my playlist. I usually listen to at least one of their songs everyday. And if I dont I usually have one playing in my head.

Back on St Patricks Day I added Pandora's Celtic Radio to my list of stations. I havent listened to it much since then but I do every now and then.

Seriously.

This morning I was listening to Dye It Blonde by the Smith Westerns. I think later today will be American Slang by the Gaslight Anthem.

I was curious about all the hub-bub, so I listened to that this morning. It's enough to make your ears bleed. What adult thought this was a good idea?!

I like this version better than the Counting Crows!

Currently, I have Fireflight (For Those Who Wait), White Stripes (Icky Thump), Muse (The Resistance), Death Cab (Narrow Stairs), and the Postal Service (Give Up) on my iPod, and Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds in my CD player.

Hmm, didn't know there was a music thread.

Is anyone else watching the ACM's? They've been great so far. You can't really go wrong with Brad Paisley, Toby Keth, Carrie Underwood and Sugarland to start it all off.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

I picked up the new Strokes album recently; I like the lead single ("Under Cover Of Darkness") a lot, but I'm a bit disappointed at how ambivalent I am about the rest of it.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

The new Foo Fighters record is a lot better than I've been expecting it would be. I've lately felt like they've been content to mail it in and stick to being pretty formulaic on most of their songs. But the intro to Bridge Burning has got me hooked. I'll probably shell out for the album.

Recent purchases:

Radiohead - The King of Limbs : Honestly, Radiohead as an electronica band has rarely intrigued me. They're still great at creating a mood (which might be all they're going for these days), but they no longer sound very inventive or revolutionary. I kept feeling like this record could have been the soundtrack to a really terrible movie about computer hackers.

Kings Go Forth - The Outsiders Are Back : A throwback band, digging back into a lot of 60s/70s R&B. It's a very lively record, and I really dig it, although I'd like it better if it were more of a Southern Soul/Stax kind of sound and less of the Philadelphia Soul.
