Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Better than Trumpet Child, but my favorites from them are Eve, Till We Have Faces or Films for Radio. I realize they are different records to be sure, but Ohio is very much a mood record for me whereas with the others I can just hit play.

Not at all what I was expecting. I often check out the bands/artists that are mentioned on here that I am unfamiliar with. ALWAYS looking for new music.

I liked what I heard from the samples of Eve. Might check it out.

As a footnote - I finally filled up my 160gb iPod. I've actually had to uncheck a bunch of stuff, which makes me a little sad. Need a 320gb machine or a second 160.

After a full day of hockey, my son had two bantam state tourney games (which I am head coach) today and caught the end of the UW/Minny game, I'm getting away from it with the den to myself, an Irish coffee, a Vike ;), a fire, "The Little Country" by Charles de Lint and, you guessed it Irish music.

Celtic Fiddle Festival featuring Kevin Burke, Johnny Cunningham, Christi Lemaitre and Christian LeMaitre

Silly Wizard - Live Wizardry

Al Petteway - Whispering Stones (not really Irish, but Celtic infused)

Ahhhhh.... :)

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

It's been a combination of Pink Floyd - The Bad Plus - and Keith Jarrett lately..

Ben Folds Five: self-titled. It was their debut CD, and IMHO, much better than "Whatever and Ever Amen."

Fireflight: For Those Who Wait. Their third album, and a band I really enjoy watching live. They've been to my hometown four times, and I've seen em perform three times.

St. Vincent - Actor

I'm way beyond late on her band-wagon...if you like Heroes/Low/Hunky Dory era Bowie this might be up your alley!

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros

Rock Art & Global

So much better than music has any right to be. What a loss he was... :(

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Counting Crows: Hard Candy

Solid album, but probably the weakest of any of their offerings. Doesn't hold a candle to August or Satellites.
