What the Fark???

Re: What the Fark???

You should probably read the article. They don't believe in birth control (hence why they have so many kids), why would they believe in fertility treatments?

My apologies, MNS. When I saw fertility doctor, I just assumed. Still, she's had enough. How in the world can she have 20, while the Mrs. and I struggle for one? It's BS.

Yeah, and while it mentions they spend $3k a month on food, I don't see any reference to public assistance. They home school, so they're not burdening the public school system. So as much as I personally disagree with their beliefs, I'm inclined to say it ain't my business.

Edit: MBO, sorry didn't know that and I hope I didn't come across as insensitive. I did not see your post until after I posted mine.

CLS, no worries. I just get irritated when I see stuff like this. Had to vent a little. I hate suffering so darn much. You don't know the days where I fight back tears constantly. I hate seeing my friends Facebook feeds where they announce pregnancies. The married couples don't bother me. It's the ones where people who just sleep with a guy on a random night and get pregnant. That's what irritates me to no end.

Which is funny, because they are essentially the best argument that birth control advocates have. "If you don't use birth control, you end up like these freaks!"

Mayor of Calif. town says bullying victims need to GROW A PAIR!

Somebody on the audio asks, 'How can they do this if they are a 10-year old girl?' His reply - the Girl's friends need to stick up for her.
That's not really how this works.

Lost in all the hullabaloo surrounding this, is that he actually had a pretty good point as to the real issue at hand. But most won't concentrate on that part due to his poor choice of words.

Why are they freaks?

you think having 19 kids is normal? Even when we were an agrarian society, that would be ridiculously high.

Hell, I know a lot of Mormons and a few "good" Catholics (ie, don't use birth control) - they don't have anywhere near that many kids.

Did you see the picture of the kids sitting around the dining room table? They have a soda fountain in their kitchen! I think that's kind of funny, although maybe given that it's Arkansas, not completely abnormal.

Re: What the Fark???

Someone never heard the adage, "measure twice, cut once" I guess....

France's state-run railway system on Wednesday admitted failing to mind the gap, after realizing that a fleet of new trains it has ordered are too wide to fit many of the country's stations.

Confirming a report in satirical weekly Le Canard Enchaîné, train operator Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer and network owner Réseau Ferré de France said about 1,300 of France's 8,700 railway platforms must be trimmed to make way for the wider rolling stock.

It will cost about €50 million ($68.5 million) to alter the platforms to fit the new trains by 2016, when they are delivered, SNCF and RFF said.

"We discovered the problem a bit late," RFF spokesman Christophe Piednoël told French radio. "It's as if you bought a Ferrari and when you come to park it in your garage you realize your garage isn't exactly the right size for a Ferrari because you didn't have a Ferrari before."

and what a lame excuse!

I wonder how many French bureaucrats drive Ferraris.....I have a hunch that most people who ride the trains do not have them!

Anyone who wants that many kids is not right in the head.
They're making up for all the couples who don't have 2.1 kids (replacement level).

Re: What the Fark???

At least they didn't discover the problem at the moment one of their fancy new Ferrari trains smashed into a platform.
I don't think the trains would really smash into the platforms. They would be going really slow in the station area there, so it would be more of a bump and then a long grinding noise as the train bunches up and hammers the lead engine that's twelve feet wide into a space that's only about 11 feet wide. That mother humper would be STUCK.

That would have been funnier though....
SNCF not realizing that its trains are too wide for some of the platforms until they have one train stuck like Winnie the Pooh, that would be well worth a chuckle.
