Mein Gott!!

@CTVNews: Growth of e-sports industry pushes parents to hire video game coaches for kids http://ctv.news/uBPrxbP

That's been happening for a couple years now, and I know some people that actually offer up their services. Fairly large industry. And as much as it may not exercise the same muscles you're used to seeing in conventional sports like hockey or football, the amount of concentration, precise movements, and stamina required are on the same levels as automobile racing, and for that reason can definitely qualify as sport.

You picked three skills necessary to be a good car racer but then leave out the strength to control a car? Yes, you need those three things in both but there are other skills needed to race. So no, for that reason it doesn't qualify as a sport.

Is crossstitch a sport? It requires all 3. What about beer pong?

What about poker?

eSports are not sports. Neither is poker, NASCAR, nor golf. I am NOT taking ANYthing away from the skills needed, just saying they are not sports.

The internationally recognized definition of the word and concept of sport is generally any competitive activity requiring physical activity or dexterity. It’s not just about strength.

Playing a stupid ****ing video game is not a sport. I will go to my grave believing that.

Bocce is a sport, then. I disagree. :)

It's a game. Not a sport. Again, not taking away the skill needed to perform well, but it's just not a sport.
