What's the real reason there are two Dakotas?

I've read the little snippets on Wikipedia etc but they seem to be leaving a lot out.

Looks to be a combination of distant population centers, differences of economy, and those dang northerners stealing the capital.

And before the Two Dakotas decision, there wouldn't be any of them had we decided to make two Minnesotas instead. There was a proposed North & South Minnesota at the time MN was applying for statehood, but the Missouri Compromise prevented that from happening, IIRC.

Subway Sucks

Also, don’t eat their tuna sandwiches. I love meat-based sandwich salads very much, but the concept of a mass-produced tuna concoction is disturbing. Seriously, if you’re ordering a fish-centric sandwich from a fast-food establishment, you need to think deeply about your life’s trajectory.

This may have been posted elsewhere but I didn't see it.

Man on plane goes into bathroom, comes out, tries to open emergency exit door, flight attendants and passengers start fighting him, he lands punches until he's cracked over the head with a **** wine bottle after screaming "do you know who I am?"Pilot diverts flight back to Seattle. First class passengers hog tie him down but he still manages to flip his wheelchAir over in the terminal.

He had to be on drugs.

Yep, it's been discussed. Guy ordered a beer before take-off, but did not appear intoxicated to FAs. Then, he snapped. I'm guessing he had a paranoia episode from a combo of whatever dope he was on pre-flight + the drink + the airplane cabin/altitude.

The heck is a "buddy pass"?

If you're an airline employee (don't know if you have to be a certain level or not) you can give out "buddy passes" to friends and family. Basically, you can book a flight for a minimal fee, REALLLLLLLY cheap, but you're basically stand-by. I had one from a former poster in here, around 2008-2012. Got to fly round trip to CO for $60, instead of $225~.

Wow. Hopefully the employee won't catch crap for his buddy's behavior.

Re: What the Fark 4: It's not unusual to be strange anymore

Assuming it's an employee in good standing, and they legitimately trusted this guy, they'll probably be OK. Just with a temp moratorium, and more scrutiny on future guests.

However, if they sold him the pass with any record of it, they're fcked; as they should be.

Re: What the Fark 4: It's not unusual to be strange anymore

The employee will lose their flight benefits for at least a year. You are responsible for your pass riders. Most people who I know who can give out buddy passes don't give them out for this reason.
