Re: What the Fark 2: That Was... Interesting.

So, 3 weeks ago the local phone/internet utility (TDS Metrocom) came through the neighborhood installing the underground main lines for their fiber optic service. In front our our home they nicked the existing phone cable, leaving us without phone or internet for about 2 hours. (Not a big deal) Isn't that why they come through and map out all of the utility lines??

Today, they were back to run the FO cable under our driveway to the house so we could hook up the service. This time, they clipped the GAS LINE!. again, we were without gas while the fire truck came, The gas utility (MGE) came to repair the line, etc. Again, the lines were all marked; the cable guys said they weren't marked very accurately.

Hope this is all worth it!

You've never been to Wisconsin?

Never there long enough to go to a bar. Last time I was there passing thru there it was to a playoff game at Minnesota-Duluth. Did do an early dinner at Grandma's.

I like how Steve's missus has to yell at them like naughty little boys to get out of the water. The drunks over there are just on another level.

Wankers. Is it just me, or does the guy with the beard look a little like Ovie? :D

This would be a Festivus Miracle if Seinfeld didn't suck.

In 1982 I had a really gross and serious injury to my right hand which I will be nice and not describe, but importantly it left me with very little range of motion in my right middle and ring fingers. (At first I had no motion at all but doing piano exercises hours a day actually rehabbed them to where they could bend about halfway in when I also bent my index finger.)

Since early 1983 there had been no improvement... until last night. I was putting away dishes in an upper dish cabinet and the cabinet door hinge popped off and shot across the room like a rocket and the cabinet door on one hinge started to twist and was on the verge of shattering. Without thinking I threw my right hand up and caught the door just under my right middle finger joint. At that point my hand also exploded in pain all along the nerves up and down my right arm and especially all along the dorsal of my middle three fingers -- it was basically like banging your funny bone if you simultaneously banged every bone in your hand. The pain lasted about 10 minutes, and when it stopped... I now have recovered 100% motion in all my fingers. Bending them hurts, but less and less as the hours pass. They also hurt really strangely, e.g., I bend my index finger in and my ring finger hurts all along the length even though it remains relaxed. It feels nothing less than if I had a lattice of springs and bands running inside my hand and tweaking one could "carry" the tension to some completely unrelated area where it would feel taut.

I'm not messing with it, but I am very happy.
