Rolling Stone is backtracking from an explosive article in which it described how “Jackie,” a 20-year-old University of Virginia student was gang-raped at a frat party in 2012.
“In the face of new information, there now appear to be discrepancies in Jackie’s account, and we have come to the conclusion that our trust in her was misplaced,” Managing Editor Will Dana said in statement posted on the magazine’s website Friday.
Dana also admitted that Rolling Stone did not contact the men that Jackie claimed attacked her.
....
A lawyer for the fraternity, Ben Warthen, said he will release a statement Friday that refutes claims in the Rolling Stone article, The Washington Post reported.
The statement will say that Phi Kappa Psi did not host a party the night of Sept. 28, 2012, when Jackie said she was invited to a party and gang-raped, officials close to the fraternity told the paper.
Warthen said the statement would come out Friday afternoon and declined further comment.
No fraternity members worked at the school’s aquatic center during that time — a detail the woman provided to Rolling Stone and in interviews with The Washington Post.
Several of Jackie’s close friends and sex-assault awareness advocates on campus said they, too, doubt the article, according to The Washington Post.

Only in Alabama: church has services in a local Buffalo Wild Wings
Instead of "Wings. Beer. Sports.", it's "Wings. Prayer. Sports." No beer during service.
What's the 3rd W?We finally settled on BW3.
Buffalo Wild Wings and Weck...think that was the original name. What's the 3rd W?

Very cool - I like BW3, but didn't realize that it had actual WNY roots. I have had better wings at many (local) places, but not at any nationwide chains (Wingstop? Yes, please stop - stop pretending to sell good wings!). I'm still surprised at how surprised the BW3 waitstaff is when I order Blazin' sauce. That's what I thought wings were supposed to taste like - that's just food to me, and I would have thought that their clientele would include zillions of people who agree, but apparently not.

We went to Tilted Kilt for lunch. We want to start a home for wayward girls now.
