This does not look good at all....

Gun sales booming ahead of Ferguson grand jury decision

FERGUSON, Mo. — Some suburban St. Louis gun dealers have been doing brisk business, particularly among first-time buyers, as fearful residents await a grand jury’s decision on whether to indict the police officer who fatally shot Michael Brown....First-time gun owners account for about 60 percent of his recent customers....

The St. Louis County Police Department reports a sharp increase in the number of concealed-carry permits issued since Brown’s death compared with a year ago.

From May through July, the county issued fewer permits compared with 2013, records show. But from Aug. 1 through Nov. 12, officials issued 600 more permits, including more than twice as many in October as a year earlier. Fifty-three more permits were issued in the first eight business days of November than in all of November 2013.

....

The purchases are not limited to residents. The owner of an online business that sells tactical gear to law enforcement agencies said his warehouse in the suburb of Chesterfield has been visited by Missouri state troopers and officers from the Department of Homeland Security assigned to help state and local police.

For a second I thought it was Watertown, NY. Mais non, it is Watertown, MA. Hearty congratulations to them on a remarkable achievement.

I teach at WHS. Haven't lost in something like 140 games. Goalie didn't touch the ball all year. Although she could have touched it in the semis, she let it roll out of bounds.

There should be an honor for those too old for the Darwin Awards:

During an argument with his wife, police say Emery retrieved a gun and threatened to shoot one of the family’s dogs.

Emery pulled the gun’s hammer back as if he were going to fire the gun, police say. But as he started to release it back to a safe position, the gun discharged as it was pointed at his face.

Also:

According to records, Pinellas Park police have had 34 contacts with Emery since 2012, including three arrests in a five-day period from Oct. 12-17 on charges including domestic battery, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and leaving the scene of a crash.

Doesn't it seem like 99% of police business is caused by 1% of the population?
