Western Michigan @ UMD - Time for some MACtion!

Re: Western Michigan @ UMD - Time for some MACtion!

tUMD needs to sweep Western after getting swept by Les Habitants copyright violators.

Re: Western Michigan @ UMD - Time for some MACtion!

This thread is a success...although a Western fan must post with an embarrassing grammatical error to be a rip roaring success.

Done. Criteria met, it was just a matter of time.

Re: Western Michigan @ UMD - Time for some MACtion!

This thread is a rip roaring success! Which is the opposite of UMD's season!

Re: Western Michigan @ UMD - Time for some MACtion!

Should be pretty simple to find a goalie for next year. Whoever wants to commit can start immediately. Heck, come in for 2nd semester.

Lot of MACtion last night, not as fun as it sounds though.

Bonus point if the goalie brings a pair of d men with him.

I am not bragging. I am informing.

Let me know what your pledge is so I can add it to the list. $5 per SCSU goal this weekend? $26 in honor of #26 Union?

I am more of a Second Harvest Heartland guy, since I live in the cities. It was more of a rip on UMD not being able to score goals, less of a rip on you making a donation or raising awareness.

Re: Western Michigan @ UMD - Time for some MACtion!

Remember how we said defense was going to be a concern for this team? It started off the season so well and now look at it. Leaking goals like a sieve :( Someone mentioned that we miss Chris Casto, which I cannot disagree with. I wish I knew what happened. It would be nice if some of our top players from last year could score... ahem Tony Time and Farley...

Attendance was night was bad. Only 4600 butts in the seats with 6,300 sold. Which is odd because the upper bowl was very full in the corners. I see tPB took the night off for finals or what have you.

Tonight is Pink the Rink...as the last three games have been Stink the Rink. Let's hope that changes tonight.

You can donate to wherever you want. I'm not collecting the money, everyone making a pledge just donates directly to their specific food shelf. SCSU fans are participating. Your team isn't helping much though.

We've raised $188, 5 cans of soup, and a jar of peanut butter so far. No Western Michigan fans want to donate?

I understood the idea. I will be donating, just not based on the amount of goals we score.

So far, $456, 10 cans of soup, and a jar of peanut butter were raised for various food shelves in MN, WI, and MI. Wonderful and generous fans in this sport.

Okay I really don't get the end of the game. I'm not a ref complainer (well, actually not a commplainer about any sort generally), but what was with the 6 on 3?

The only way I could see was if UMD got an extra penalty, but it seemed both UMD and Western each got one player in the box. So it seemed to me that it should have stayed a 6 on 4 power-play.

The University of Michigan collected 1.017 Teddy Bears this past Wednesday for their annual "Teddy Bear Toss". One of the stuff animals was at least four feet tall....

The stuffed animals go to children in Mott Hospital (UM children's hospital).

That was one weekday game....

That's great! I've never heard of teddy bears coming in anything other than whole numbers. I'll round down. 1 bear! One child will be very happy. The child who gets 17/100ths of a bear will be confused.
tUMD had a teddy bear toss as well. I don't know how many teddy bears they collected. I only know how much was raised for the #TopShelfToFood shelf drive because I organized it, without any affiliation with the university, just asking other bloggers and fans to participate. Perhaps you would like to make a pledge? We have raised an even $500 now.

Ok, my bad, it should have read "1,017". Fat fingers, although I'm pretty sure that you knew that...

Re: Western Michigan @ UMD - Time for some MACtion!

Still confused on how they ended up with a 5 on 3 at the end of the game.

Re: Western Michigan @ UMD - Time for some MACtion!

Why did they put a guy in each box and give Western the 5x3 (which became a 6x3). Based on some comments I read, the 6 x 3 took some adjusting because teams never practice it. Although they came **** close multiple times in those last 60 seconds. There was some great shot blocking by UMD in a frantic final minute.

It was a really wild ending, pretty enjoyable. You're right, great job shot blocking.
