Couldn't find a thread for this season, so starting one.

4-0 against D1 teams so far, outscoring Ferris State and Notre Dame 21-2. The Notre Dame series was as lopsided as the scores: shots 51-20 Friday and 39-17 Saturday, and Quentin Miller stopped 36 of 37 for the weekend. Three power-play goals Friday (Benák, Henricks, Cowan), and Henricks and Cowan scored again Saturday.

How's everyone feeling about this group?

thoughts from a tangential fan: unsurprised Benák is tied for freshman scoring, Lafreniére is also adapting well. team is scarily fast. i dont know what to make of the team with the two teams theyve played though, neither are very good. Michigan game next weekend should be interesting.

Quentin Miller as a replacement for Hampton is working as well as I expected. he was amazing for DU until the injury, not his fault his replacement happened to go on such a dominant run... glad hes getting the chance to be the starter because in most teams he would be

Fair point on the schedule. Ferris and Notre Dame aren't much of a measuring stick, so Friday at Yost will tell us a lot more. I'm torn on that one as a Michigan fan too. For what it's worth, my ratings model has it dead even, 46-46 with a 7% chance of a tie. Agree on Miller: 36 of 37 against Notre Dame, and he looks like a starter.

Ha, the series has been about as even as it gets lately. Last year was a split, 4-0 at Yost and 5-2 in Kalamazoo, and the year before was 4-1 WMU and 2-1 Michigan. Two of the four before that went to OT. Friday at Yost should be a good one.

Tough one at Yost Friday, 3-2. It was about as even as it gets: shots 29-28, and both power plays went 0-for. Miller's still at a 1.00 GAA and .956 save percentage through five games. LIU comes to Lawson Thursday and Friday, and that's a good chance to get rolling again before the schedule gets tougher.

I think this year's team has a chance to be special. They have more grit along the boards than last year's team. Miller has been great in net, and our depth looks good too. Though I would prefer not testing it as much as last season.
