West Regional: North Dakota, Michigan Tech, St. Cloud State, Quinnipiac

Re: West Regional: North Dakota, Michigan Tech, St. Cloud State, Quinnipiac

You're right, that's why I changed "big" to "really big." :p
I hope Tech wins twice this weekend, but based on past experience in GLI and Broadmoor, they haven't yet gotten over the top.

I don't personally remember Tech ever winning any "really big games", but I've only followed them for 32 years. It is nice to talk to fellow Techies about hockey around the water cooler in March and I'm tired of hearing about the squeakball Spartans. I think they are a year or two away yet, but who knows maybe I'll end up in Boston in a couple weeks.

1974 Frozen Four (they didn't call it that then) at Boston Garden. I was a sophomore at BU - we lost to Minnesota in the last minute. I think a guy named Brad Polich (or something like that) beat Eddie Walsh with a slapshot from just inside the blue line after Vic Stanfield coughed up the puck. Michigan Tech beat Harvard, 6-5 in OT. Both great games. I remember all the black and yellow "miner's" helmets behind the net. That was 41 years ago. Fun times...except that Minny went on to win the NC, beating you 4-2.

why is everyone disregarding the win over BGSU at the Final Five? I think that was a pretty big game...

To be honest, Jan reminds me of BG in how they play, except they aren't as aggressive in the forechecking. Counterpunch specialists but want to control it in the offensive zone. Flip flop the PP/PK strengths.

It'll be nice to have the st cloud fans in Fargo. Even after their season ends this afternoon we know we can count on them to cheer on their fellow NCHC team.

Well. I'm glad I checked this before the game. Now I don't even have to watch. My favorite part? The insight as to why this is "no question."

It's a Coach Mel thing from his interviews.
"Is it important to score goals in ice hockey contests, coach?"
"No question Dirk."
"Is it going to snow this weekend, coach?"
"No question."
etc.
I had a dream last night that the game was already over and Tech lost 3-0. No, a nightmare. I hope I don't have ESPN or something.

Sounds like Jacques Lemaire: "There's no doubt"

Now that's a good one. As long as you don't have ESPN THREE, you might be ok. Had to do some checking this morning and found the whole Watch ESPN thing on the Apple TV. Which is hooked up to the 110" projector. We're good to go. Is it 3:30 yet?

"That being said, I will say that it was only a dream." ;)

Forgot about appletv. Guess I'm taking that to my mother's this weekend. The games show locked. Is it because I haven't confirmed it to my appletv? I'm hoping so.

Yes, you just need the activation code from the AppleTV/WatchESPN app and then log in at es.pn/appletv with your tv providers account information (ie: your Comcast email, your directv account login, etc) and the activation code on a computer or smart phone.

AppleTV, RoKu, and the WatchESPN app are the easiest way to watch the games.
