We're Going Streaking! Wisconsin at Michigan Tech, January 28-29

Re: We're Going Streaking! Wisconsin at Michigan Tech, January 28-29

It would be a moral victory to not get shutout both games.

Tech has forgotten how to score, which means winning is out of the question now. Victory is redefined as merely lighting the lamp. I think breaking the scoreless streak needs to be Job One and for a team in a tailspin, they can afford to go for broke. On the first PP in Friday's game, Tech should pull their goalie. What do they have to lose other than giving up a shorthanded goal? They aren't going to win the game anyway, but they can give themselves a good chance to get the scoreless monkey off their backs early in the weekend. Who knows...maybe taking a risk that pays off will be a motivator. Hopefully they practiced this scenario during the week.

Frank Anzalone, is that you?

Re: We're Going Streaking! Wisconsin at Michigan Tech, January 28-29

This could be the most awesomely horrible series in the history of American sport as Tech extends their streaks to never-attained depths of suck. I'm one of the 3 fans attending on Friday, just so I can say I was there and in case of outright insanity/fights/bedlam.
But more likely, Tech will score the first goal or two on Friday before getting swept away. Because that's what they do. And even though they'll have a "really good first period," and "x played well for a freshman in the WCHA", they'll have some second period "turnovers that really hurt us against a good team like (any team in the country)".
Our only hope for an actual win is if Olson or Royer overcomes his nagging injuries by showing up in special titanium-and-gold hockey gear including high tech weaponry and propulsion systems and... wait, where's Twitch Boy?

I think this season is setting up for a storybook ending for Tech. A win in the first round of the WCHA playoffs and then a miracle run through the Final Five (6) and on into the NCAA tournament!

As long as it means they beat the rodents on the way to the ncaa's, that ok with me.

Punt on first down!

Badger fans.. anyone hurt. Tech has at least three out, several questionable and a few playing but not 100%.

Freshman defenseman Joe Faust is out with a shoulder injury. Several others are nursing injuries but will play including Sean Dolan and Jordy Murray.

I heard former MTU coach Newell Brown is a leading candidate to take over at MSU at his alma mater for Comley.

Does anyone know about Ron Fogarty?

He's the HC at D3 Adrian. Nice guy. Totally ran into him by accident in Fort Wayne last year at a bar getting lunch before the Midwest regionals. Has got himself a pretty good deal going on there with a lot of guys that wouldn't clear the D1 clearing house.
