Weekend playoff hockey -- Fail and we'll C you later!

Re: Weekend playoff hockey -- Fail and we'll C you later!

Timeout CSS with :25.9 left, face off in front of SNC goalie

Sog now 27-26 SNC - which means SNC has two this period

Re: Weekend playoff hockey -- Fail and we'll C you later!

Utica isn't going to fall much below E2. If you compare them with Norwich, Norwich wins winning percentage by a good margin and record vs ranked teams by a good margin. Utica wins SOS by a pretty good margin, there is no H2H, and the only common opponent is Neumann. It's a pretty close comparison right now, and it depends on how much the committee weights the factors in comparing the two. With the sample size for COP so small it's hard to see that carrying a lot of weight.

Beyond that, I think Utica is still a lock, but if Norwich wins the ECAC E, I think two more wins over ranked teams will make the SOS comparison closer and move Norwich farther ahead in RNK, and that probably gives them the #1 seed.
I have to think though that a team with 5 losses, lock or not would be on the road anyway for a quarter final so all the worry about hosting is for naught, unless the commitee has them host a Wednesday play-in, which is very possible. (is a bid needed for a play-in?)

Utica fans-- is your scoreboard working in the Aud today?

It wasn't last night when the women played. It was "interesting" working Potsdam radio without having any idea how much time was left, especially on power plays. They got the corner scoreboards working by the second period, but the center ice one never got going.

When they use a goal horn to signal the end of the period, you know something's not right....

In other news, fun fact: they make those down the street.

Their SOS and record against ranked teams would still likely provide them with home ice 3/8 if it were available.

2nd period 3:28 left -- Lake Forest 2 MSOE 0

Will the DMG make its third appearance in the post season?

Both minigames went to the road team yesterday. :(

Re: Weekend playoff hockey -- Fail and we'll C you later!

Final:
MSOE 1, LFC 0 in the Milwaukee mini game. They go on to face Marian, while Adrian gets Northland in the MCHA semis.

Re: Weekend playoff hockey -- Fail and we'll C you later!

4-3 Salem State
9:30 3rd

That game is now in OT, and the refs have called 3 penalties so far with 10 min gone

Make that 4 with 15 min gone...

We get more bonus hockey as neither team can score. Each team was called for two penalties. There was about one minute of 4X4 hockey, so each team had 3:30 worth of PP time, but nobody got the job done. Pretty entertaining game.

I'm watching the game and they just finished the first OT. Mass-Dartmouth seems to be controlling the play and getting a lot of shots to the net. This will be a quick turn around to the Championship for the winner

Re: Weekend playoff hockey -- Fail and we'll C you later!

And we go for a third OT. Looked a little chippy there at the end of OT#2
