Wednesday Whiteout - Mother Nature version

Re: Wednesday Whiteout - Mother Nature version

News stories have the bus driver in Canale's eating lunch and the bus just slid across the road from the parking lot - it IS a very steep lot...
Best chicken parm I've ever had was there. Pre game with the Bears, the very same night we won at your barn 5-2 or something like that. I remember the parm but not the score.

Great to here the positive reviews! The Canale's are family friends. Obviously, jokes aside, I was very happy to here everyone was OK.

I think in the 4 years I spent in an around Oswego I have never had never eaten at Canales, I'll have to check the out next time I go there. Cheap Seats has great burgers and Greenes has good wings.

And the restaurant stayed open the whole time...you just had to walk around the bus to enter for a little while. :) Seriously

Oswego v Bowdoin reconfirmed for 3pm puck drop tomorrow
Surprised about this. Been there when there was 4 feet of snow and whiteouts. Also, leaves less time to travel to Sat. game and prepare. If the teams were there, at Genny too, why not let them play? Just saying.

State of Emergency. Fan$ in the $tand$ too. I-90 shut down. The players may be there but the reffs, tickets, score keeper, security  , ect ect can't/aren't allowed on the roads.

The problem isn't the snow alone, The high winds are the culprit. I was out a while ago and when you get a gust visibility goes from 100 feet to 0 instantly.

Your final points are valid....can't have a game without a certain number of "support" staff. However in D-III, the fans, their participation, and their needs, don't matter. (So I have been told.) Supposedly it is all about the student-athlete's experience (well that's what I have been told....). If the players were there, the refs were there, the zamb. driver was there, and required medical staff were there (and I am sure that is the real problem tonight.....these other folks), according to D-III philosophy (as I have been told) the games could have, and perhaps should have, been played.

All non-essential personnel are sent home in a SOE...even in Oswego, folks needed to safely put on hockey games are "non-essential" Doesn't matter if they were there or not - although it is doubtful they were as THEY WERE SENT HOME....

Is this the same Canale's family that has a restaurant in the Ft. Drum area? If so, I agree, great Italian food.. (At least back in the 80's):)

That Canale's was just off Arsenal St (Rt 3) on the right after you crossed the viaduct heading south toward Sackets Harbor in Watertown.

I could go for their chicken parm right now... been a while since I've had it.
