Chris Dilks at WCH said it best earlier in the season, "With a 12 team league its not how the top teams do head to head, its how you handle the cupcakes." He was basing this on the CCHA.
Sure enough DU, UMD & North Dakota all split with each other.
Either DU, UMD or UND will whip off a 9-1-0 streak at some point in the second half. Whomever does it will win the MacNaughton.

I was thinking that the team that has the most cupcakes might be the one that ends up on top at the end of the season.

1. North Dakota - 42 pts
2. Denver - 39 pts
3. Duluth - 37 pts
4. Wisconsin - 36 pts
5. Nebraska-Omaha - 31 pts
6. Minnesota - 28 pts
7. Colorado College - 26 pts
8. St. Cloud State - 26 pts
9. Alaska Anchorage - 25 pts
10. Minnesota State Mankato - 21 pts
11. Bemidji State - 20 pts
12. Michigan Tech - 5 pts
That would give us First Round Matchups of:
North Dakota vs Michigan Tech
Denver vs Bemidji State
Duluth vs Mankato
Wisconsin vs Anchorage
