Wcha tv

Re: Wcha tv

blows chunks tonight. Every time I make a keystroke it seems to want to make me log in again. The only thing that happens more often is the incessant buffering. Just flat out crap, regardless of venue tonight.
I'm not having any problems but then again, I use my iPad and don't do anything else with it

I have had problems all year. All teams and all venues. Fairbanks seems to have worked the best so far. When I switch over to my NCHC account, they all work perfect.

Yes, I think that's a function of two things:

1. NCHC teams have better in-arena resources.
2. Neulion (the NCHC streaming provider) is better than Stretch.

The former is on league teams (and I'm eyeing my alma mater here). The latter is on the league. I think that part of it may be that Stretch is cheaper and that the WCHA is trying to keep costs down for fans who haven't liked WCHA.tv in the past. I'm not sure that's the right decision (and my suspicion here may be way off).

Re: Wcha tv

Also had some flash player issues, and problems staying logged in. Funnest was the FAQ that said to use the help tab ... Which failed to put in an appearance on most browser/os combos I tried. am feeling better about it today though.

Re: Wcha tv

It actually had to do with the scorebug...when added to the main camera, it provided a jerky feed....Channel 7 Fairbanks took the feed and had issues Friday. They took off the score and it went smooth Saturday.....NOW...love the military, but those uniforms were great EXCEPT you could not read the numbers...... They changed the scoring numerous times...The first goal Friday was originally given to a player who wasn't even on the ice...

Re: Wcha tv

4000 at the Havoc Southern Professional game versus Pensacola last Thursday. Former Nanooks Nolan Kasier and Nolan Huysmans assisted on first two goals. Justin Tateson nets the game winner in the shoot out.....

Re: Wcha tv

I still contend with Minnesota State and Bemidji leading the way in technology, why the WCHA can't keep the streaming in house, save money and spread the monies((and it can't be much))within the schools.....

Oh man, I have a lot to say about those abominations that they called jerseys.

The sad part of this is that the NSIC (the conference that Bemidji and Minnesota State are in for all other sports) does an excellent job of streaming all football, basketball, volleyball, and wrestling conference events. Total cost to the viewer on these events. Zero.

Makes you wonder why the WCHA struggles in many cases.

The easiest response is "scale".

I would agree with you here. I have watched many Beaver Football and Basketball games and even the conference baseball tournament at no charge. Never had an issue.

I have NOT plunked down any monies on the WCHA.tv just because of the reviews/complaints I have heard on here. I get all of BSU's home games with a set of rabbit ears attached to the TV (thank you Lakeland Public TV, your donation will be coming) and I catch the away games listening to Schultzie and the Beaver Radio Network.

Re: Wcha tv

You all forget that 5/10 home rinks are played in off-campus rinks that aren't run by the universities. I'm guessing that those other sports are being played at university controlled venues.

While that is true, of the 5 home rinks that are off-campus, 2 (Anchorage and Huntsville) are also used by professional teams (which should be equipped to produce a quality broadcast), and 2 are in Bemidji and Mankato which in post #49 says "leading the way in technology". I don't think it is where the facility is located (frankly, I don't see the difference between campus sites and off-campus sites) determines the quality of the product. I believe that the league has much to do with it and the Northern Sun (while a good D2 conference) is far from one of the premier conferences in the country, yet produces a quality product, albeit done by the individual schools. And I am comparing cost - Zero for Northern Sun, $$$ for thge WCHA.

Re: Wcha tv

Shirtless — I'd hope that more people are watching D-I hockey on streaming than D-II anything. I'm fairly sure that's the case at UAH.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Don't call the Havoc professional. The SPHL is one step up from a beer league. The VBC is an antiquated arena that got a (nice!) refresh to the concourse and lower bowl, but the guts of the building are still what they were 45 years ago when it was built. davyd83 and anyone else here who's done media work in the building knows that it's a little treacherous up there in nose bleeds where the media are. The Internet connection barely holds on most nights. It's not enough that UAH doesn't put any money into producing the broadcast (paying two people, using multiple cameras, having a legitimate producer); it's that some nights you can't even get our barebones broadcast out over the crappy Internet.

Pardon me, I'm off to TN to go play the lottery.
