Re: WCHA Playoff Series - #12 Michigan Tech @ #1 North Dakota

How can there even be a thread about this series after this past weekend?

because there are still games to be played, and Michigan Tech can still make things interesting...

If you mean Tech could try to goon it up, then sure. There's no reason to think the scoreboard will be interesting, unless whichever black hole we start in net plays out of his mind and manages to keep it within two goals.

The only reason we beat DU was because Tech brought whatever sort of B game they could conjure up, and the Pioneers picked the wrong night to bring their D+ game. Strange things have happened in the past (Tech/CC '94), but I don't expect that out of the Sioux this weekend.

By keeping it within 5, 4, 3 or perhaps even two goals in one of the two games?

Re: WCHA Playoff Series - #12 Michigan Tech @ #1 North Dakota

Seriously can't Tech just forfeit these games, take the money they were going to spend to come to Grand Forks and instead use it to bring the Tech band to the F5?

Sioux in One

Re: WCHA Playoff Series - #12 Michigan Tech @ #1 North Dakota

I think we'll see a repeat of this last series, mainly because Tech has just given up. A couple of players coming back from time off MAY help inject a little life, but not much. Sioux in two: 6-2, 4-1. (4-1 only cuz they play Cosmo Cramer on Sat.)

Sioux in 2.

Re: WCHA Playoff Series - #12 Michigan Tech @ #1 North Dakota

You never know what will happen, but given this past weekend, I would be shocked if it isn't over in 2. North Dakota just has too much depth and offensive firepower, and Tech seems to have given up.

Re: WCHA Playoff Series - #12 Michigan Tech @ #1 North Dakota

I would love to see Tech win one (well I guess I'd love to see them win two) but I don't think it's happening.

The sooner this series is over, the better.

Re: WCHA Playoff Series - #12 Michigan Tech @ #1 North Dakota

third page, not acceptable even if we know the overall goal differential will be 20 plus for this weekend

Re: WCHA Playoff Series - #12 Michigan Tech @ #1 North Dakota

Why do we always come here? I guess we'll never know. Its like some kind of torture to have to watch the show.

If Michigan Tech does not win a game this weekend, the will officially tie the school record for fewest wins in a season and fall one short of last year's seemingly impossible to duplicate win total. Unless Tech sweeps this weekend, they will finish the season with 30 losses (again).

The worst part is that North Dakota skated circles around us for 120 minutes last weekend. Even when Friday night was 1-1 halfway through the game, the Sioux were absolutely dominating the Huskies. There was no bad luck on our part in the results last weekend, just bad hockey. If getting blown out 6-1 and 11-2 last weekend had something fluky involved, then I would have hope for this weekend. The fact that Tech couldn't even stay on the ice against North Dakota leads me to believe that there will be no magic this time around.
