WCHA First Round: MSU-M @ tUMD - Mohawk Time!

Re: WCHA First Round: MSU-M @ tUMD - Mohawk Time!

That's witty. I'll bet in 5 years when you don't have a program you can come up with even better ones.

Wow, someone's a little defensive. Throw jabs around, but can't take them?

Uh... Come again? I took a shot at your program, you took a shot at mine. I came back and took a shot your program, so I believe ball is in your court. I'm not upset, I just thought that while your answer is true, it wasn't very clever. And its early in the week... Gotta start some trouble before Friday.

I agree Bale. I can't comprehend how anyone thinks it is funny to joke about a Minnesota D-I hockey program potentially being in danger. Every fan base has it's gems, but I can assure you that most fans do not think this way.

Good luck against the Bulldogs. The new arena in Duluth is pretty sweet and makes for a fun weekend.

Meh, I don't take the threats on our program to seriously. I know we're a relatively young program and this is a very low down cycle. I actually do think that the new conference alignment is going to be good for us. The "good" competition never has really driven our fan base. Our lowest attendance this year were for Denver and CC. If SCSU, MN, UMD, and UND make regular (read: not necessarily every year, just regular) appearances in Kato, we'll be fine. Given the conference will be weaker and the recruiting base stays the same (because let's face it, we don't really recruit against the MN, DU, and UNDs of the world anyway) we SHOULD thrive. That will bring attendance back and, in turn, the program will make money and stay aroudn for the forseeable future.

And for the record I don't think they'll fold either, nor would I want you guys to, and I can't stand DU and UND for the whole NCHC thing.

Geez, you guys are no fun. I might have actually stumbled onto a playoff series thread more boring than ours.

Probably because a feeling of apathy has taken over the MSU fans. It's hard to be too excited about anything lately.

Bale just needs to escalate this by offering Euro some bed linens carrying an infectious disease.

The Bulldogs shouldn't get Mohawks, they're encouraging opposing fans to be hostile and abusive toward the Mohawk tribe.

That should spice things up:)

Those are the smells that come from a diet of Spotted Cow and Ian's, and if you don't like those smells then I don't wanna know you sir
I assume that is how you always smell.

Going for throat I see. Yeesh.

I'm going to write a letter to the editor immediately!

Re: WCHA First Round: MSU-M @ tUMD - Mohawk Time!

I don't know, maybe an A.D. who cares about hockey?

Yep. My favorite Jutting moment was watching him read the riot act to an official after Mankato scored a goal. Apparently he was still ****ed about a blow call from earlier in the period. Seriously, you just scored a goal. Shut up.

Re: WCHA First Round: MSU-M @ tUMD - Mohawk Time!

What would it honestly take for Mask...er Jutting to get fired?

I dunno. I think Jutting might be on thin ice right now. Attendance was just pathetic this year. The part that might save him is that he's got another year left on his contract. MSU just isn't willing/able to spend money on paying two coaching staffs. It's one of those deals where they don't change anything and it gets worse. If they do change things they are going to spend any potential additional revenue on having 2 coaching staffs. The reality is that it's about the money now more than ever. It's going to be driven financially in the end.

And then they'll use the excuse that they want to see what he can do in the "new WCHA" against "more similar institutions" and he'll get another extension.

Ten losing seasons out of twelve; only one Final Five appearance, one NCAA appearance. Nowhere else would that be tolerated at a D-I level.

Except in Houghton...
