I guess right when Frattin's hit on Wehrs happened that Gophers fans would **** and moan about it, even more so if the Gophers lost.

Fact is your team lost and you guys didn't capitalize on a 5 minute major!

Did Frattin's hit deserve a penalty? Hell yes, he left his feet. Textbook charging penalty. And I'm fine with him receiving a 5 minute major for it. Do I think he should've got a disqualification? I have no idea, I leave that call to the refs.

Anyways, that was a great game. Enjoy the off-season Gophers. Where the non-sensible Gopher fans can continue complaining about the big bad Sioux for being classless, goons, thugs, cheap etc. to hide the fact your team had a disappointing season.

I'll make a compromise here...the Gophers had a disappointing season AND the Sioux are classless, goons, thugs, cheap, etc.

Frank was Sonmor-like in the game, Doug pretty much tried to stay neutral, although he strayed once in a while. He complimented the Sioux players quite a bit tonight, though.

I agree that he should probably be suspended for it, but what is the likelihood of that happening before their Thursday game? I know Marvin's [second] hit was a special case, but didn't that take them a week and a half to sort out?

I guarantee he will be suspended if not then I will not bother to post in the WCHA Final Five: Hello Empty Seats thread.

They took that long, because SCSU didn't play that next weekend, IIRC.
Frattin should have a game. I wouldn't be surprised at 2 games, but I would think that's unfair.

I learned long ago that the USCHO Boards are mostly for losers. I only post every so often now. And I read posts very rarely. So, feast on your diet of mountain dews and little debby chocolate donuts. Most of humanity does not spend 1000+ posts per year on message boards.

I wasn't referring to you. I made a distinction as to what Gophers fans I was directing my post too. The non-SENSIBLE Gopher fans.

I'm sure if the roles were reversed and that same type of hit occurred against a Sioux player we wouldn't hear anything about it from the Sioux faithful right?

Yeah - the league didn't rush because SCSU had a bye weekend. The only reason Marvy's 2nd hit was a special case is because it showed a pattern. Otherwise, the officials didn't even rate it a 2 min. minor.

The Gopher hockey players are all better people than I am. I say that because in the hand shake line I would have sucker punched Matt Frattin with an upper cut right under the chin. If he sees the Xcel Center ice next weekend then Bruce McLeod is the biggest fraud in college athletics. 3 games minimum for that piece of s--- cheap shot artist Frattin.

When a player is injured on a dirty hit and doesn't return while the one who did it stays in the game, of course fans will be *'d about it - particularly when said player ends up scoring a goal.

No kidding. I don't blame officiating for MN's loss - they failed to convert their opportunities and couldn't sustain much of anything in the offensive zone. However, the refs were a complete joke and should not work again in this league. A league with the amount of fans who spend the insane amounts of money that the WCHA does deserves better than this.

Given that CFB's get auto game misconducts + 5 min majors, I'd say this hit deserved that due to the injury involved, the contact to the head, and the obvious recklessness involved. I suspect the league will agree with this when they review the hit and hand out a suspension this week.

Most of the Sioux players aren't classless and didn't play that way. Frattin is and did and I hope he pays for it. In another era, somebody would've been sent out to beat the **** out of him, but that sort of thing typically doesn't happen in this day and age since fighting is apparently the root of all evil.

Didn't say that. I was simply alluding to a certain number of Gopher fans' propensity to start complaining about UND being thugs, goons, etc. etc. Don't go any further into my statement as that. Cause this is all I meant by it.

I already said that Frattin deserved a penalty for it. Definitely an illegal hit. If he is suspended, I won't disagree with the league for its decision.

I know I'm reaching with this one, but I'm pretty sure there's a grace period for appeals that extended any sort of decision making until Thursday by "end of day." Also, does anybody know where I can pick up a WCHA rulebook? If nothing else, it'd be good to hold on to in case I can't procure any dead gophers to throw on the ice.

I don't know. If I am UND I wouldn't not appeal anything. The longer they fight the less likely Frattin plays in the NCAA tourney.
