WCHA 2025-26

Minnesota at Ohio State this coming weekend.

The last time they faced one another, the game had nine penalties, including a major and game misconduct.

And that was BEFORE the brawl at the end of the game. Nine additional game misconducts and two next-game disqualifications handed out for the brawl. Of the nine players so penalized, only two will be away at the Olympics - Murphy and Jungaker; the other seven should be on the ice Friday.

With both teams already short-handed, one would expect the coaches are stressing that they CANNOT afford any major penalties. But whether that massage will be heard ... It should be interesting.

TWSNBN at UW. Crazy games.
BSU at UMD. Yep.
MSU at. St. Cloud. Splittsville
Tommettes share home ice with the Tunnelers. Tunnelers don't maximize points, but pick up points on 2nd, stay within range.

This week...

BSU and SCU - SCTU battling for 5th. Advantage SCTU based on this week's opponents.
UW at MSU - MSU battling for 5th.
UM at TWSNBN - Jeckel and Hyde for both team last weekend. Very weird.
STU at UMD - Tommies in a battle for 5th.

This happened for a period of time last year: the WCHA web site has the points wrong in the standings of the WCHA conference.

Seriously?!? LOL!

The haven't got the overtime win for Minnesota over Wisconsin recorded properly; they have it as a straight win by Minnesota. That means they have Wisconsin with one point too few, and Minnesota with one point too many.

The USCHO standings have it listed correctly.

Bucky looking good in the conference title race at this point. Especially if the rodents can help us out a bit this weekend against TWSNBN.

(Or are these things we don't say out loud?)

Say it! M I N N E S O T A ....let's go you stinking little critters!!!!!!!!!

UW could drop a game or at least some points in the last 4. Kato is a tricky squad. St. Cloud isn't as scary with their Olympic losses, though they still could be UMD lite.

Fans of 'chaos' would want an Ohio sweep, and Wisconsin to take an OT/shootout loss. That would result in a flatfooted tie for first in the standings.

(And if you really want chaos: Minn sweeps Ohio, then loses one to Duluth; Ohio sweeps Bemidji; and Wisconsin loses two in regulation, wins one in regulation, and loses an OT/shootout. All three tie at 64 points. Not very likely.)

Minnesota's last sweep of OSU was in 2019, when the Buckeyes were still a bit of an afterthought nationally.

Hard to know what the path is to a Minnesota sweep here. Multiple Buckeyes get ejected and suspended and they can barely ice a roster?

If they play like they played last Saturday, you're going to get destroyed.
