Ferris played a tough game with seeming more confidence than Tech. Disappointing for us, but they earned it.

Was it just me, or did it look like both teams were fighting the ice a bit tonight?

Either way, the first period was tilted a bit towards Tech, until Ferris got the late 5x3. From there Ferris outplayed Tech just a little bit, just enough to get the single goal.

Update on referee Butch Mousseaux. He was injured in the warmup when he caught the heel of his skate in the ice and fell hard, hitting the back of his head on the ice. Along with losing a great deal of blood while on the ice surface, they determined they needed to drill at least one hole in his skull to relieve the pressure of a brain bleed. Keep him in your thoughts.

Will do.

Butch is one of the best refs in the league and a terrific guy as well. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

That was really scary stuff, seeing that live. Prayers for sure.

Prayer sent for Butch.

I totally agree with you, he's our favorite ref. Ever notice how he takes time to explain to players why they got a penalty? Positive thoughts to him and his family.

Re: WCHA 2015-16: So here's what we think that we know...

The second game was definitely better than the first. A lively crowd helped. Props to both all the Tech and Ferris fans who showed up en masse.

Van Andel Arena gets a giant F for food options today. I can't believe the place doesn't have somewhat premium food options available. They don't allow you to leave between games, but the food that is available for purchase is gross.

I'm from GR so I take a special affinity to VAA. The food options were terrible and I don't believe they had a single craft brew stand available. That could have been much better.

Food wasn't the best, they didn't have the one place open that usually is decent. As for craft brew, there was one behind section 127 that had Founders, Fat Tire and Angry Orchard at least that I saw.
