Re: Watch college hockey online for free
I don't know if this is the golden era of college hockey, but I'm watching four different games of varying quality video at once, thanks to the miracle of broadband internet:
Western Michigan at Clarkson--video isn't very HD but it's more than passable and there is little buffering (at least for me). Too much "white out" sometimes. Announcers are a plus as they're college students trying to make something happen. Multiple camera angles. Free. Grade: B.
MN Duluth at Notre Dame--watching this on the Roku and on the big TV because it's professionally done. Looks great, sounds great. I love professionally produced streaming sports programming. Free if you have cable login credentials.
Miami at St. Lawrence--video is poor to average and it's somewhat choppy. Only one camera. I imagine SLU doesn't spend much money on its video for hockey, but hey, it's free. Grade: C.
North Dakota at Vermont--Professionally produced, good color balance. Not very choppy, sometimes buffers. Broadcasters. Grade: B-.
I'm still bitter over the CCHA breaking up, but the proliferation of games not only available, but for free, is awesome.
