Watch college hockey online for free

Re: Watch college hockey online for free

If you want to see UNO vs. Western Michigan this Friday night at 7:30 P.M., central, you can do so by watching NETV's live stream of the game, freebie, here:

http://netnebraska.org/interactive-multimedia/sports/maverick-hockey-western-michigan-vs-omaha-0

NETV is Nebraska Public Television, on which several games per season are televised so the Mavericks can be seen, statewide.

This is as good of streaming feed as I have ever seen and is in hi-def.

Re: Watch college hockey online for free

SlingTV has a free 7-day trial. They have ESPN, ESPN2, and most importantly ESPNU. Can watch on any internet-enabled device (laptop, smart TV, etc.). I will be subscribing to watch on my Roku.

Do they have ESPNU on the 7 day trial??

Edit: YES THEY DO! I heard a bit about sling TV but never looked into it. You sir, are my hero.

Do they have espn3?
ESPN3 is a bunch of streams online there's usually more than one thing on at a time on ESPN3. You can get ESPN3 for free with the WATCH ESPN app and you don't need a cable login I believe.

I don't have cable and couldn't get espn3 until I got Sling. Now I have all except ESPNU for some reason

Re: Watch college hockey online for free

With Sling you need to pay the extra $5 to get the sports pkg, which includes ESPNU - but it is also free during the trial if you clicked on it when you signed up.

ESPN3 is sometimes free without a cable login, but it depends upon your internet provider.

Re: Watch college hockey online for free

The All American Prospects game is on NHL network at 7 EDT tonight. Many college recruits on the two teams, including 4 Gopher recruits and a BU recruit I know (Bellows).

It'll be fun for me to see two kids I opened the bench door for as mites (Wait and Bellows) playing on TV in an NHL rink.

Thank you Lakeland Public TV. All home BSU games will be televised again this year. Most of Minnesota and parts of North Dakota and Wisc should be able to see them.

Re: Watch college hockey online for free

I don't know if this is the golden era of college hockey, but I'm watching four different games of varying quality video at once, thanks to the miracle of broadband internet:

Western Michigan at Clarkson--video isn't very HD but it's more than passable and there is little buffering (at least for me). Too much "white out" sometimes. Announcers are a plus as they're college students trying to make something happen. Multiple camera angles. Free. Grade: B.

MN Duluth at Notre Dame--watching this on the Roku and on the big TV because it's professionally done. Looks great, sounds great. I love professionally produced streaming sports programming. Free if you have cable login credentials.

Miami at St. Lawrence--video is poor to average and it's somewhat choppy. Only one camera. I imagine SLU doesn't spend much money on its video for hockey, but hey, it's free. Grade: C.

North Dakota at Vermont--Professionally produced, good color balance. Not very choppy, sometimes buffers. Broadcasters. Grade: B-.

I'm still bitter over the CCHA breaking up, but the proliferation of games not only available, but for free, is awesome.

Re: Watch college hockey online for free

If you have ROKU check the ESPN to get any game they are showing. Only problem is that you need to have ESPN on cable to access it. There is also a free channel on ROKU that handles nothing but college sports and it will link you to the audio and video if available. It will note if subscription fee is required.

If you want FREE then try http://livetv.sx/en/ and look to see if it's carrying the ESPN game.
