Re: Virginia Earthquake- every one nervous of irene

Re: Virginia Earthquake- every one nervous of irene

Felt it on the sixth floor of my building in Rochester. It had to be pointed out to me before I realized it though.

edit: I chuckled at the thread title

Re: Virginia Earthquake- every one nervous of irene

sounds like everything is ok, some building being evacuated for precautions, don't enter the subway - due to aftershocks.

Re: Virginia Earthquake- every one nervous of irene

possibly the Washington Monument tilting?

evacuations in Windsor Ontario.

Re: Virginia Earthquake- every one nervous of irene

I felt it here in DC. I didn't know what it was when it happened.

I had just returned form a bike ride and was preparing to shower. I still haven't had the nerve to do that.

Re: Virginia Earthquake- every one nervous of irene

US Census Bureau is closed... Unsure about about other feds

Re: Virginia Earthquake- every one nervous of irene

Felt it in the Albany area. Supposedly there was a simultaneous 2.2 centered outside of the city of Albany. Odd sensation for sure, I thought I was fainting.

Re: Virginia Earthquake- every one nervous of irene

50 miles from the epicenter. That was pretty intense.

Re: Virginia Earthquake- every one nervous of irene

a 5.9 near Mineral, VA. most buildings evacuated as precautions. aftershocks are a concern. earthquakes in the area are usually in the 3. - 4. range. some minor flooding (?) at the Pentagon. small fire in the Dirksen building. minor damage in the Capital. nuclear plants near the quake shut down. all National Monuments and Memorials being evacuated. ceiling tiles down at Reagan National. Washington Monument possibly damaged.

That's it. Go up to the cheat menu and turn disasters off.

They evacuated the Pentagon, which is a non-trivial exercise (as they learned on 9/11, it's not a building designed to be gotten out of quickly).

My co-worker's house in Culpepper is damaged.
