I just have 2 questions:
How did Sneddon miss Conacher?
Shouldnt the new arena have a 100' surface?
Don't know what you mean by your first question? A lot of people overlooked this guy and there are a lot of recruits to look at out there to review. What would have drawn VT/Sneddon to this kid in particular?
Oh,tongue-in -cheek. He is from Burlington (Sneddon connection)

I believe Burlington, Ontario and not Burlington, VT.....![]()
Why don't we blame global warming on Sneddon also?
I have considered that if Girgensons had showed up on campus and generated even twice the points he has in the AHL thus far this season everyone would be blaming Sneddon. Hey, the buck stops at the head coach but give me a break.
I like where the team is headed. If Stalburg had stayed another year (he should have) then they would be in the mix for the last home ice spot.
They should get even deeper next year and I like the way the D is shaping up, they are still young (in college class, if not in years)
Go Cats
I didn't see the game last night (as ATT U-Verse doesn't carry NESN, at least in Atlanta), but it sounds like we played pretty well except for the penalties. I don't know about you guys, but I get VERY nervous when I start to read that the team has turned the corner and has finally gotten things figured out. We had that this week with the HE article by Dave Hendrickson on this web site, and the article in the BFP by Ted Ryan. Lots of quotes by coach and players that we weren't doing certain things before and now we are. And quotes by Sneddon that he now has the utmost confidence in the penalty kill. We had the same kind of talk after the holidays and then went into a total swoon in January. I'm not saying the quotes and thoughts were unwarranted, just that I think we play poorly when that's the mindset. Not sure what I'd do differently other than try to play with a chip on our shoulder every night. Hopefully we can do that and quickly get back to winning ways tonight. Go Cats, Go!
I agree and have been saying the same thing. Can't believe Sneddon isn't the least bit curious to see what Faust can do in a game situation. Nothing to lose indeed.THREE Soft Goals........
He doesnt move well sided to side.
Give another Goalie a shot...
Why not?
Nothing to lose.....
I looked to me on replay that Mccarthy just shanked the shot and wasnt passing.
Looks like UVM will finish in the #7 spot. Umass has to play 2@ UNH and a homenhome with Merrimack
funny we actually have the better schedule with a falling BU and BC at home. And Maine also has 2 at UNH
which will make it hard for them to gain 4 points in 4 games unless we go 0-4.
However we wont know who we will play for a while as the top 6 are bunched up only seperated by 4 points.
According to Sneddon bad ice on McCarthy shot. He should bench him next game because of it. The nerve of him shanking. Especially in OT.
Sarcasm aside what's going on w Brickley and Markinson's line? They must still be hurting more then anyone is letting on cause they are much better then them results they are getting.
Not that the year is over but does the way the team has been playing since BC give hope for larger strides next year? Think there are any early departures?

I noticed Vermont, doesn't seem to get kid's from Ontario and Quebec. Vermont is right next door to these provinces, Ontario being the biggest single producer of Div. 1 players. I realize the BCHL & Alberta league are considered the two best Canadian junior A leagues, but Vermont isn't in a position to attract the top kids from those leagues, and seems to settle for the second tier of kids. I would think they would go after the Ontario & Quebec kid's. Most of the other HE schools are committing kid's from ONT. & Quebec leagues. If someone could enlighten me as to why, I would appreciate it. By the way, great effort against UNH this past weekend, this team deserves the playoff spot.
With all the talk of this team "turning the corner", I have to bring some reality into this discussion again. Both games against UNH were completely boring hockey games. Slow down, off the glass, chip it out, minimal puck possession, with un disciplined penalties. Again, I will say it, you cant win consistently in Hockey East when playing this defensive paranoia style. If you are blessed with a player like Victor Stahlberg once in a while that will put up goals regardless of the coaching style, then you can win a few more. Why do you think his brother couldnt wait to leave?
You nailed it on the head! Especially the Friday game it was chip up off the glass out of the zone all night long and hope for a lucky bounce for one of our offensive players to get possession. You could see the difference between UNH (and I think this is slightly below their usual high skill high power offense teams) they pass or carry out of the zone much better and have much more passing and possession in the offensive end. We have one or two passes at best or are pushed into the corners where we have an ineffective cycle that doesn't create anything. Not sure how much is coaching and how much is just the plain old skill level of our players. Considering it has been this way pretty much all during Sneddon's tenure some of it has to fall on coaching.
On a positive note I do think Saturday they did do more possession and control and carry through the neutral zone and the top line had some good possessions and passing in the offensive end and should have had a couple more goals. McCarthy and Fallon are by far the top players on the team. Reynolds has lost something from last year or maybe I just saw his best games last year.....Is it just me? The Sneddon offensive curse???![]()

BCHL = yes; Alberta = no.
