I'm not saying the two directly off-set, but you can see my previous post about what I honestly thought about the non-stick-throw, and the badgers are owed a call from McCabe's "slash" earlier in the game. I understand why the slashing rules include hitting an opponent's stick, but that was most likely simply dropped to draw a call. Hopefully the bad officiating goes both ways.

They just said on the radio that the thrown stick play was not reviewable by rule. They said that 5 officials in the box all agreed on that. Then Shepherd evidently skated over and said "Yep, it's reviewable."
Can you imagine if he had screwed that up on this stage? The guy is a joke.

Honestly, if the replay had shown a clear throw, I'd be more bothered by "properly" getting the call wrong (meaning no review) than I would be by "improperly" getting it right.
