Where my dogsies at?
Season kicks off on Friday. Might want to put the National Guard on notice, this could turn ugly real quick.
Thinking this will be an easy rout for Lowell is a quick way to lose this one.
Lowell has had a tradition of playing up or down to their opponents, depending obviously on who they're playing. Now, to be fair, that was mostly noticeable under the last regime. Let's see how Bazin gets them to react.
Thinking this will be an easy rout for Lowell is a quick way to lose this one. While we looked good in spots Saturday, and while we won't see the same players because of the usual (smaller) roster size, there is no reason to be over-confident. Its clear we've got the similar type of make-up and personell that got us to 2nd place and an NCAA tourney trip. On the other hand, we took a few dumb penalties and weren't exactly crisp.
Hopefully the week has been productive.

As heralded as Synitsyn is, I'd like to see him have a chance to fire on net... but I think its just a matter of time. I was surprised not to see him on the PP, but it does look like he needs some time to re-adjust to game-play and Houk looked pretty good... so maybe it'll be awhile until we see him out there... half a season or so.

UVM will be looking to prove themselves. Just play smart and create breakdowns.
Houk needs to play smarter. Three or four penalties in the exh game didn't thrill me.Thinking this will be an easy rout for Lowell is a quick way to lose this one. I agree. Let's not get too over confident that every game will be an easy one. This is the league opener for both teams
and everybody will be ready for it.
With the way the refs have been in the exhibition games, it looks like HE has some replacement officials out there.Green Bay is a great team on paper...lets find out on the field.
Our goalie will likely be freshman Brody Hoffman. Here's a little blurb about him from the Burlington Free Press:Any UVM fans want to comment? I know they had a pretty good result in their exhibition game. Who should we expect to see in goal? Any of you coming down to Lowell?
Just wanted to let all you Lowell fans know that I appreciate your generally respectful attitude about UVM in this thread. In years past, your comments might have been more like "We're gonna hammer those pansies and they're gonna go home cryin like babies." I think we're going to be much improved this year and should be able to keep this game competitive. While we might not win, I think it's certainly possible, and y'all seem to be able to recognize that too. I'm really looking forward to Friday and finding out more about our guys as they compete against a very good Lowell team. Good luck to you guys.
Very well said. The fact that Lowell is highly rated going into the season, every game will be under a microscope. In the scheme of things, Lowell should win this game. Taking care of games like this is what makes good teams great. It doesn't matter that it's the home opener or if Rowdy is alive after Sneddon ran him down, Lowell should come out with 2 points. No game in Hockey East is ever a cakewalk and I do think most people have miscast UVM as being one of the worst teams in league history, but there's no reason to be scared. Lowell is better in every aspect of the game. Respect your opponent, play hard and get the job done. It seems Norm has reinforced that idea and hopefully the team has bought in. Can't wait for Friday.
