I'll gladly take the split! Man, if we hadnt collapsed last night, would have been so nice to sweep the #1 nationally ranked team on their home ice...:rolleyes:

UVM 6 DU 4, weekend split, Vermont is a very good team and should be right in the HE race. DU needs to tighten up defensively.

Exciting weekend, but I'd rather be 2-0 than 1-1. Vermont was tough and big!
Agree with du78, defense needs to come around.

Nice win for Vermont, did not expect it after the way last night's game ended. A bit of redemption for Irwin.

Good luck Denver fans, you have a great team, reminds me of BU's team last year in a lot of ways.

Paint this one green & gold!

TEN goals in two nights against the college hockey's #1 ranked team; and all this by a team thought to have "no offense" this year.

Was DU overrated? Perhaps, but certainly over "hyped."

Nah, DU seemed like the real deal to me. That is one lethal offensive team.

I agree...add back a few missing pieces and DU is tough. I just don't know if that scoring from UVM is sustainable.. but good for both teams I think. UVM got to play on the road against an elite team and DU got to see a big strong defense that can hit...

Exactly, Gwoz put a lot of freshmen in the line-up tonight including 3 d-men and the goalie. They also played the weekend without their leading scorer from last season. He needs to know at what level his young players are at. I am sure he will have more of a set line-up a few weeks from now. Another non-conference series next weekend at OSU and I would expect him to use all of the traveling players.
