Why are they out? Reynolds was yanked halfway through the Maine series and Puskarich was supposed to be back from an injury several games ago.
Im not aware of reynolds being injured maybe I missed it.

The Freeps says only that "Puskarich, UVM's second-leading goal scorer with 11, and Sr F Kyle Reynolds will miss the series. Both are listed week-to-week"

Not sure why. Puskarich has some kind of undisclosed "lower body" injury. Not sure about Reynolds. Wouldn't be surprised if Sneddon's just not happy with his play and, since his career is pretty much over anyway, he doesn't want to embarrass him by making him a healthy scratch.

Think Sneddon's got to go w/ Hoffman in goal tomorrow. Gotta try something--the team is down to its last gasp.

Believe paper said Reynolds hurt not sure. much as I think you try Hoffman too problably doesn't happen and and he will sign a pro deal ala Walls did at the end of the season him and a few others don't see coming back.

I'm not surprised, although I do think it's a bit reactionary. Santa had a rough game... how many has he had over his career and how many back to back? The odds he has a bad game tonight are pretty nil. That said, either one is capable and I'm comfortable with either one in net.

And I'm not going to blame too many of those goals on Santa...

Goal 1: D man got beat... plain and simple. They needed Santa to bail them out and he didn't... and on that one he really should have had. No excuse for that.

Goal 2: Sanford makes one hell of a shot... untouched in front of the net. Santa wasn't going to stop this one and neither would Hoff. Give credit, awesome shot. And take credit away... D dropped the ball, granted it was off the faceoff but someone has got to get a stick on him, get in front of him... you can't let guys skate right up to your net...

Goal 3: What the freak happened here... breakaway because no one in Green and Gold even moved... like statues out there. Again good move on a breakaway due to the Cats taking a timeout without telling the refs and it's a goal. Not going to pin this one on Santa either.

Goal 4: PP goal, not sure you can fault Santa on this one. I would like to see him make that save, but there was a lot going on in front of the net.

Reality is you can put goal 1 on him.
You can put 3 goals on poor play and the D having a bad game.


However, starting Hoff makes sense, need something to wake this team up. The real problem is we need some offense... Reynolds and Puskarich out on an already offensively challenged team is not good...

Agree Hoffman is the way to go.

I dont think the Freeps has explained Reynolds continued absence nor Puskarich's beyond describing Puskarich's injury weeks ago (when the discussion was his possibly returning for Merrimack or BC regular season series) .

#1 I'm not sure why the Freeps treats these questions as off-limits. We're fighting for our playoff lives, in need of offense, and our goal-scorer isn't playing.

#2 I may be getting ahead of myself here, but I hope we don't learn subsequently that Puskarich has fallen out of favor with Sneddon and see problems there. Hopefully it's just a nagging non-serious injury.

Great game by Hoffman and the Cats! One more tomorrow and maybe the season can continue beyond HE playoffs. Difference is tomorrow BC will be almost as desperate for the win as we are.

Spring break or something for BC... place was 1/2 empty and the Cats came out flying! Good UVM energy in the crowd as well.

Team got stuck in the defensive zone for prolonged periods of time (especially in the second), but managed to get it done. Hoffman was awesome and we didn't cough the puck up (too) many times.

Same effort tomorrow!!

One thing Vermont has right now that we have not seen all year is a hot line, Shaw and Bradley have been on a tear the last 2 weeks
and it couldnt happen at a better time. I agree Hoffman was the right call even if Fri was not Santa's fault.

And it was not a big surpirse the crowd was small as BC(and BU is you saw any of that game) fans really do not get to excited until
the conf finals.....or a beanpot game of course.

They certainly have been, Shaw has really stepped up this year and gives me hope from an offensive standpoint for the next few years. Bradley has had a tough year but he seems to have regained some of his scoring as well. Would be nice to see Mario step on the ice this afternoon, it could be the tipping factor for the Cats, although it seems as though we won't see him this weekend.

Great effort by the Cats and hopefully they have some confidence tonight and it doesn't turn into a mental game. Each team has won 2 games and in reality if UVM hadn't completely collapsed for 5 minutes of the 2nd period on Friday this series may have already been over. They can certainly skate with BC and have the ability to win this series... and then absolutely need to in order to have a shot at post season play.

Agree about Shaw and Bradley. They've been absolute monsters down the stretch! And it's good to know that we'll have some scoring next year from somebody.

I don't see how you overturn the goal call on the ice based on the replay???? Stripes letting a lot of crap go by BC that if any other team did would put them in the box.

Yeah baby!!! Bring on BU or Lowell! Kinda pulling for UNH to beat PC so we get Lowell, but just happy for the team to make it to the Garden. Gritty, gutty performance!

Vermont finalllllyyyy gets by BC in the playoffs!!! And even better they go to the Garden and dont have to face BC like the last 2 times.

Hope UNH can beat Prov so we get UML first.

Tough for the BC seniors to have to play thier last game at home in a empty barn.

That was by far the best they played of the 3 games!! Sneddon put together great game plan in game 3 as well. They had a lot of quality chances beyond the "two" goals they scored. Was dicey at times there towards the end but Hoff played great and was the player of the game.

Onto Lowell at the Garden... Nice game by UVM. If they play like that next weekend with a healthy Puskarich back in the line up I like our chances.
