The seven top scorers from an explosive team return, too, and Santiago is (thankfully) still on the roster. (UC didn't have him for most of last season, but he's a huge threat when he actually plays.)

Seems to me that Heenan has made the right moves. Utica's D has been a little shaky for years, and Gary has recruited beef on the blue-line. Assuming that the incoming guys are all over-aged and can skate backwards a little, Utica should land on a level playing-field with the UWECs of D-3. ;)

All cynicism aside, Utica is loaded for bear on-paper, and this season could be better than the last... We're seriously considering making the drive to Rochester for the opener v. Naz.

You act as if Uticas roster isn't full of guys who spent two or three years in juniors. They are the same age as any of the top teams or any team that is full of experienced junior guys. Either get over it or go look it up yourself and then get over it when you realize your point is, as usual, pointless.

What's the address of that site that lists player DOB's again? Thanks.

Someone better versed in US Jr Hockey help me out here. Seems as though UC gets a ton of NAHL recruits, many more than any other Eastern program; and more than most Western colleges!?

My recollection is that the NAHL was the 2nd tier US league after the USHL. Anyone know how the NAHL compares in quality to the CJHL leagues from which most Eastern teams recruit?

No, you don't... Not if the UC -and the W as a whole- continue to dominate OOC teams, while UC wins a lot of W contests and enjoys some success in their very important annual games v. Oswego. (That's pretty-much how SOS works: you try to beat teams that beat a lot of other teams, right?)

If your point is that Utica plays a few crap-teams every year, well, so what; that much is inevitable playing a D-3 schedule in the East. There are a bunch of crap-teams out here, and UC is by no means playing more than their fair share of them, while playing multiple games against the top-tier.

It's really not that hard to figure-out, Joe. The only consistent juggernauts East of the Hudson are NU and Platty anyway, and they reportedly don't have enough wiggle-room to schedule anybody in the W with regularity... Ergo, Utica plays about as tough a schedule as it can possibly arrange.

(And, just for fun, I'll ask you the same question that has gone unanswered so many times by so many trolls: Who in the East played against a tougher slate than did Utica last season, in your opinion?)

No, you don't... So then why do they play a lot of teams well below .500 ? Oh that's right....

Keep beating your drum....it's been shown to you "so many times" how weak of a schedule Utica plays and how the ECAC West (especially Utica) stacks their schedule against the weaker 1/3 of DIII (yes its one thing to play weak teams, its another to schedule the weakest teams) year in year out and how that inflates the wonderful OOC record you want to gloat about. You don't want to accept that fact.

If Utica actually traveled, they might find some more teams to play......:rolleyes: Probably part of the reason why they have as many wins as UMASS Dartmouth do in the NCAA's.....

Do we have to go over this again? You say its gone unanswered but it HAS been answered "so many times", you just fail to accept it.

IIRC,Uticas coach has a connection with the NAHL,I think coached in that league for a while.

Is Plattsburgh east of the Hudson? Well, I suppose since the Hudson curls NW into the Adirondacks. But.....
