^Kind of a cool channel. He went through his Top 5 “current underground” bands from every state and for Minnesota he chose:

Night Moves - Country Queen
She’s Green - Bleed
Heart to Gold - TNT
Bad Bad Hats - Nothing Gets Me High
Prize Horse - Further From My Start

I am not familiar with any of these bands by memory at the moment but will start listening later, although I did see that I have 1 song liked so far for Night Moves.

From comments I also saw mention of Hippocampus and Shackletons.

From my Discover Weekly playlist. The algorithms for this playlist are interesting. I’ve noticed that each week there typically tends to be similarities between the bands. For this week’s list there’s a lot of what I would call ‘new-new wave’ with a lot of nods to 80’s. Fascinating.

New Constellations – Hot Blooded
Magic Winds – Cyan Blue
The Brian Jonestown Massacre – Remember Me This
Mount Hush – The Ascent
Nightbus – Average Boy
Amyl and The Sniffers - Big Dreams
ACTORS - Post Traumatic Love
Brigitte Calls Me Baby – We Were Never Alive
Battery Eyes are an awesome Minneapolis band.
Also, if you never saw them The Blind Shake were great: https://youtu.be/661uzxZoO90?si=4cbok84NEl2Kscg5

Also, The Slats were one of my favorites!!!
Singer lived and still lives in Minneapolis:

My wife and I were at a the Weird Al concert. The only negative to the concert was during the first medley, where he sings a sped-up polka version of the songs covered, he’s showing the videos. For a family-oriented shoe with a bunch of younger kids in the audience, some of those video clips were just way too sexualized. It’s better than violence, but I didn’t envy the parent that may have ended up fielding some awkward questions.

Otherwise, it was a great show. The songs that were in his show from back in 2019, those that repeated in this concert had entirely different choreography.

“Tacky” opened Weird Al’s set, and he nailed the presentation, including some of Treasure Island’s staff showing up on screen, and an off-guard Puddles.

Puddles Pity Party opened the show. His set was a mixed bag. The guy can sing, but his bit either hits strong or completely misses, depending upon the song.

Today's fun fact: lead singer Doug Fieger of The Knack was brother of attorney Geoffrey Fieger who defended Jack Kevorkian. Doug died of cancer in 2010. Here he is with his immortalized Sharona Alperin:
