USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Trade advice guys, I just traded to get Dez Bryant, Golden Tate and Andre Ellington.

I've been offered DeAndre Hopkins and Martellus Bennett for Steve Smith. I also have Pierre Garçon and Martavis Bryant at WR.

I currently have Dwayne Allen and Jordan Reed at TE plus Travis Kelce is available. Is Bennett enough of an upgrade that I should swap WRs?
I think I'd keep Steve Smith...Bennett is good, but he isn't that much better than Allen/Reed.

That's what I was thinking but I'm also thinking about accepting late enough this week that it processes monday morning after I've used Steve Smith this week (I face the guy who offered the trade this week). Allen/Reed both have a bye week next week, plus Smith and Bryant both have a bye on week 11.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Guy in my league, but not in my division, needed a QB. Traded him Eli and Hillman for Hill and Romo. Eli/Hillman wouldn't have seen the light of day on my team, and since my boy Gio is out, I like starting Hill over Al Morris. My starting QB, Foles, already had his bye week, so my backup QB really doesn't matter. I like the trade. Any thoughts?

If Romo is healthy, his Fantasy Playoff schedule is supposed to be favorable. I think its a good deal to protect yourself on Gio...especially since Hillman is hurting too.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

My league currently has seven 5-4 teams and two 4-5 teams. So 90% of the league is within a game of eachother. Then there's the one guy that gets owned by everyone, he's sitting at 2-7.

Still not the most parity I've had in a league. A few years ago seven teams tied at 7-7, stretching from third place to tenth, so some guys made the championship playoffs while others didn't even make the consolation round.

That happened in my division one year. First place was 9-5, last place was 7-7 (6 team division). Only top 2 teams made the playoffs. It was sick. Everything came down to the last week; the 2nd to last week...everyone was within a game of each other.

Still can't believe someone traded me Marshawn Lynch. (evil laugh)

Can't believe someone traded me DeMarco for R Cobb.

However, Peyton gonna Peyton, so I lose this week. I could miss the playoffs. I'm currently 7-3, in what will probably be a 3 way tie for first in our division.

Looks like my trading of Stafford, Bell, Green for G Tate, Ellington, D Bryant was a smart move and it will help me survive Carson Palmer's injury.

My trades have made no difference for me in hindsight, for better or for worse. However, I hope they make a difference in the long run.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

This parity is becoming insanity. After two ties this week, nine of the ten teams are within a game and a half of eachother. Had Leveon Bell gotten one more point, an entire division would be tied at 6-5.

East:
1 (me) 6-5-0
2. 6-5-0
3. 5-5-1
4. 5-6-0
5. 2-8-1

West:
1. 6-4-1
2. 6-5-0
3. 6-5-0
4. 6-5-0
5. 5-5-1

Luckily I'm in the worse division and have 150 more points than any team in the division, so I have the tiebreaker well in hand. The regular season ends week 13 so I figure if I split these next two weeks I'm in and can get the 2nd seed just by winning my division.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Divisions are 6 teams each (set divisions):

1 team in my division has not scored 300 points. Only 2 teams have scored 300 in the other division.
1 team in my division has a losing record. Only 2 teams have winning records in the other division.

My division has a 2 game swing from 1st to 5th.
Other division has a 2 game swing from 2nd to 3rd.

This happens every year. Not kidding.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Despite not getting anything from T.Y. Hilton or Coby Fleener, and realizing I should have started Zach Ertz and Riley Cooper in my NFL.com league, all I need is 2-3 more points from Russell Wilson to advance in the playoffs.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Won my NFL.com league, without making a single roster change all season long. All I really did was replace Zach Ertz in the lineup with Coby Fleener.
