USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Auction. I spent for AP, Forte (wanted McCoy but he went for $71) and Graham. Everyone else I picked up for chump change.

The secret to auctions is to nominate garbage and then let someone else buy it.

Well, F* AUCTIONS.

I have already told my (in its 24th year, mostly same guys) league that if we ever do auction, I am retiring. Stupidest. Thing. Ever.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Drafted today. 12/12, super basic scoring (3 for pass/catch TD, 6 for rush/return; yards really don't matter a whole lot; the points usually don't factor much into our games), and no designated TE position (it's rolled into a general WR position).

A couple of notes:
Peyton went #1 overall. Chaos ensued.
Kapernuts went in the 5th round. The team already had a QB. Blank stares were shared around the room.
Johnny Backup was drafted, while Hoyer (and for that matter, Bridgewater) was not.

Nick Foles
RG III

Al Morris
Giovani Bernard
Jizz Rodgers
Matt Asiata
BenJarvis Green-Ellis

Randall Cobb
Kyle Rudolph
TY Hilton
Brandin Cooks
Marcellus Bennett
Colby Fleener (taken in the 2nd to last round, which I couldn't believe)

Who drafted Sam Bradford? Sucks to be dude.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

I have Sam Bradford in one of my week 1 Fanduel games. Time to go make some edits....

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Aaron Rodgers or Big Ben in week 1?

I would probably go with Rodgers. Both Cleveland and Seattle have very good pass defenses, and I don't think either game will feature a lot of scoring. My gut says that Green Bay will have to throw the ball in the second half to try to stay in the game, while Pittsburgh will probably rely a bit more on the run. Of course, if the Packers are throwing the ball more, that also opens up the possibility of sacks (not sure if your QBs get penalized for getting sacked), as well as turnovers. Ultimately, I don't think either QB will have a huge game. Rodgers is the slightly riskier play, but has the greater upside as well. If you think you need a big game, go with Rodgers. If you feel confident in the rest of your lineup, and just need an average game, go with Big Ben.

At least...that's how I see it. :p:D:D

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Have 8 fanduel lineups this week. No big money games. 2 -$1 3-$2 2-$5 1-Free Wife picked one of them.

I have Cutler in half my leagues, he was pretty underpriced this week, IMO.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Kaepernick. He's playing Dallas.

For one league, I think I f-ed up by drafting Wilson and Kaepernick, because I'm going to have this question every week. For next week, since Wilson is playing the Chargers, I'm going with him over Kaepernick.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Should be in the money in 2 leagues. Looks like I'll be right around break-even for this week Fanduel.

Here are the 2 leagues I made money in:

QB Jay Cutler
RB CJ Spiller
RB Montee Ball
WR Alshon Jeffery
WR Brandin Cooks
WR Keenan Allen (Still will get some points from him, hopefully)
TE Kyle Rudolph
K Blair Walsh
D Vikings

QB Jay Cutler
RB Adrian Peterson
RB Shane Vereen
WR Alshon Jeffery
WR Emmanuel Sanders
WR Pierre Garcon
TE Dwayne Allen
K Matt Bryant
D Vikings

Vikings Defense carried me in both leagues.

In an $8 winning spot in the second league with no players left, probably will end up in the $5 range. In a $15 spot in the first league, with Keenan Allen left, hoping to maintain that $15 slotting, but will break even if I drop to about $10.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Megatron has worked me into the money in another league already. Don't think I'll stay there, but there's a chance.

Also in 2 Monday only leagues. Megatran is owned by 91% of leagues. :p

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

Eked out a win against my former protege and main rival. Thank you, Detroit Lions for stomping on the Giants.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

+$3 for the week. Overall, I am disappointed. I thought I had some good lineups to make more money than that, but a few players just didn't perform, and I was just outside of the money in 3 more leagues.

Re: USCHO Fantasy Football 2014: Let's Try Again...

I think I am safe posting details on my FanDuel plans here, first, I don't think anyone else does FanDuel here, and second, I don't think I'm good enough at it for people to want to steal my insights. :p

I am in 9 leagues this week, which is the most this year, but I am still spending the same $20, just in more, cheaper leagues, instead of less, more expensive leagues. I have 2 entries in $5 leagues and the remaining 7 leagues are $1 or $2 leagues.

Salary Cap = $60,000

Here are the players I have, in how many leagues I have them, and their cap hit:

Bengals (2) $5300
Broncos (2) $4900
Panthers (1) $5600
Saints (1) $4600
Patriots (1) $5400

I don't know why I posted all this. I guess its because I'm stuck waiting for other people to do some work before I can continue with mine, and I'm bored. Feel free to judge my brilliance, or idiocy. Or try to put together a starting roster (1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D) and stay under the cap. I can give values for other players if you want. I may post a few of my combinations later.
