USCHO Continues to discriminate against WHOK

Atta way Boy!!! Like USCHO you do not give a sh_t about WHOK
This might be the least accurate post in the fewest words that I've ever seen on this forum.

Lindsay, I agree with the sentiment of what you're saying. Back when I voted, it was only a 10-team poll, and it was already difficult to have a strong opinion about who the last couple teams into the ranking should be. The counter argument has been that teams who aren't really contenders have something to strive for if getting into the rankings is more achievable. Personally, I think that's a carryover from youth sports and giving everyone participation awards, but it is at least worth considering.

Yea hard to know what’s exactly right. I think being in the polls is a recruiting tool so I really hope it’s reflective of reality, and done with care. I’m just not convinced it always is - even if it’s unintentional. Not enough crossover of leagues always, etc.

. Interesting that all the "boys" are experts on demoting and NOT promoting WHOK with all their silly and stupid match.

Every poster in women's D1 forum is an unabashed supporter of women's hockey overall. We all promote women's hockey in our own little worlds outside of this forum. That I can assure you is the case.

If this is so important to you, why don't you start a thread and you can rank all the teams you want. Then other folks can comment about your rankings and it can be a conduit for discussion.

Though I appreciate your support, that's not true.

As a voter (I was one for the D3 poll for a while), you have to fill out your top 15. Everybody does. So, if the poll was for 20 teams, you would have to fill out 20 teams. So, there is a guarantee of 20 teams getting a vote if the poll was for 20 teams.
I understood this when posting. Apologies if the words I chose didn't reflect that.

(And your example of thinking about those three teams tied for 16th is not true. The math gets complicated to explain why.)
I'll take your word for it. I'm fine with you begging off on the math. But you really missed the intent of my comment. I was trying to extend an olive branch to those desperately seeking bragging rights.

You omitted a portion of my quote, where I said the current poll "honored 18 teams." I stand by that. Let the 3 teams outside the Top 15 have a teaspoon's worth of bragging rights.

I know. I was being a bit pedantic (comes with the territory of having a career in QA and SW test... LOL).

True. After all, that's really what an opinion poll is all about anyway -- giving teams some bragging rights.

Didn't want to start a new thread but more than noteworthy that Northeastern won its 19th (!) Women's Beanpot last night, defeating BU 2-1 in OT before 10,663 at Boston TD Garden. Not sure where that stands in terms of largest crowds for women's hockey, but it surely has to be up there.

Nicole on Twitter says it's 7th for college hockey.
