As a NU fan, I also have a beef with us getting more votes than the mack. They are a better team IMHO, they should eventually get their due.

Eh. Our goaltending and freshmen class give us the edge. We're not a top 15 team, but I can see us as a preseason top 20, and I certainly believe we're better than the 'mack and certainly have more potential...which is no disrespect to Merrimack, who are solid.

Hard to believe Penn State isn't ranked.

Minnesota @ 15 ***..... Already over rated..... BSU (returning all but one player) at 15 i can see, but the Gophers.... especially after last years #hit show NO FLIPPIN WAY.... I love my Gophers to death, but With the Don and Mr. Hill still here I am expecting another %hitty year.

Who cares? It is a preseason poll. The only people caring about this rating is the BTN in case the Gophers are still ranked in their arbitrary "top 25" crap they have during each game. I was amused @ the beginning of a BTN broadcast last year upon hearing #22 Minnesota was going to battle #4 North Dakota.

I would be if I was being serious but since I'm not, the honor stays with Osorojo. I'll let you know who's a close second.

Pre-Season polls are worthless based off my studious research:

Hillary lost to Obama (She was a pre-season favorite)
Alabama won't be in the BCS (Alabama and Lou Saban are over-hyped)
BC will lose to Maine (Just because I hate the State of Massachusetts)

This Saturday will be the game that determines their fate.

Win and their in, lose and it's the 'MAACO Bowl in Las Vegas' for them.

Last weeks game was a preview of things to come.

I still don't see BC repeating this year. They will be up in the polls but won't win it all. Maine will be much tougher to beat and will probably win Hockey East this year. After that, it's a crap-shoot in the tourney's for all the teams.

Comparing the last five years of preseason and end-of-season rankings, the three most overhyped teams are Minnesota, Michigan, and Boston College. Each of them finished worse than their preseason ranking four out of five years. The most underhyped team is St. Cloud State, who outperformed their preseason rank four out of five years.
