There was a time when you "or should I say that we" were told that you couldn't where the colors unless you went through the Player Development Camp Process?

Then along came the at large bids! and what about the BS Olympic tryouts out west & back east? I watched a kid beat EVERYONE all the way to the end and recalled to the call back and still beat everyone? no sniff?

When an organization knows in advance of the exercise who is in and who is out, why have the exercise?

I remember a player who was invited to every player development camp, she was on the ice for every goal against? but was invited back every year?

A great man told me once that USA Hockey knows the 20+ girls they are watching and that the rest are fodder! Not that you cannot breach the 20, only good luck!!

that's one ****ed off mom right there! yessirreee....little Sally didn't make the team...So it just HAS to be a SCAM [or what?]

Not sure about Monsoonweathers statement as to Karyn Bye being a "way better player than Cammi Granato"!! We ARE talking about the same Cammi Granato here right? The one that is in the Hall of Fame?? While Karyn Bye was an outstanding player in her own right, and was no doubt a huge part of the 1998 and 2002 Olympic Teams, it is pretty hard to top what Cammi did over her career. Providence College: 96 games, 256 points. Concordia University-Montreal: 123 games, 327 points. AND, oh yeah that USA Hockey career: 205 games, 343 points!! Both players are the same age and played at the same time in the same era. Again, Bye was a terrific player - don't get me wrong! But Granato was simply the BEST!!

Based on strictly objective criteria - she went to my alma mater - Karen was clearly better. ;)

Not sure about this particular situation but I will say that it is probably time for a change on the women's side of USA hockey. Canada was a mess this year and certainly ripe for the picking and yet we still lost. The girls side probably needs some new blood who can give the program some fresh insight. I'd be looking for someone outside the women's college game. Too many conflicts of interest in my opinion.
