5:30 – The defensive unit is impressing me tonight. They have very active sticks and break up a lot of plays that could very easily be scoring chances, if not goals. This from the USA Hockey blog.

The Canadian fans booed Carlson from the US every time he touched the puck. What did he do, aside from being able to live in a superior nation?

Impressive effort after the first 4 minutes of the first period. Other than the offense really stepping up and looking all-around awesome, I was impressed with the USA's physicality. I didn't expect this lineup to do much hitting, but they did. After watching Canada today, no one has any shot at beating them if they're not physical. Zucker and Palmieri were particularly brutish.

Isn't he the only pro player(AHL-Hershey Bears) on team USA? Did he turn down the Major Juniors (Isn't that an oxymoron? Sort of like Jumbo Shrimp?) somewhere along the way?

He actually turned down UMass to sign when he was drafted. He played a season for the London Knights and his split this season between the Hershey Bears and Washington Capitals.

He also plays for the team in the capital city of the superior nation.

No disrespect intended! But I recognize Ralph and Dr. Demento as true RPI fans. FlagDude, you are now on my list!

( Since Seth is the RPI coach and RPI has cherry; DU has crimson but both are red and Ralph sends us news, I consider us related.)

P.S. I like D'Amigo and his father, who assured RPI Jerry would be playing there, not in the major juniors.
