UNO @ Michigan Tech, Feb. 10-11: red Mavs, brown snow statues, and a gold trophy

Re: UNO @ Michigan Tech, Feb. 10-11: red Mavs, brown snow statues, and a gold trophy

Count on our taking some ridiculously stupid penalties at the most opportune time for MTU, too.

It's been a trying year.

I doubt Montpetit even makes the trip. I look for Blais to take the rest of the season and use it as a scrimmage for the sake of getting some guys some ice time that need it. Krause is coming along I'd say. Massa did alright and should get at least one start. I think Tech will be a handful.

For the UNO folks who may not have experienced a Winter Carnival, this is a sampling of just what to expect.

Nothing is funnier than being accused of this when, you aren't, really.

Jeez, we're taking the bus all the way there and are staying at a hotel a whole 45 minutes away from the arena.

Oh, the horror..............

I wonder what other indignities will be visited upon us? Old Milwaukee instead of Michelob on the bus?

45 minutes from Baraga? Is the team going to ride tricycles to the rink?

It is not 45 minutes from Baraga to Houghton, unless you get caught behind Toivo Koskiineimiiiimaaakiala doing 40 in his Buick.

I like how Blais said the schedule was in their favor. Reaally? Next three series against the first place, third place and fourth place teams? That's brutal. If UNO gets home ice, the earned it big time.

That is a crazy long bus ride though. Hopefully ties their legs in knots and saps their will to live.

Bus must be getting packed up about now, oops forgot the stick bag. And really Superior WI stop, not Duluth?

Re: UNO @ Michigan Tech, Feb. 10-11: red Mavs, brown snow statues, and a gold trophy

This is gonna be a very even contest. I see a split. Tech has a slight edge on UNO in scoring, but UNO has stronger goaltending. UNO has 3 high powered scorers but Tech has 8 medium powered scorers. The teams have slightly different makeups, but it's hard to say that either will have an advantage. Red Cows is probably right that UNO might take more shots per goal, but I think Tech will keep up with UNO in shots. Massa will be hard to beat. I think this series will depend on staying out of the box and Robo playing well.

Dean could have flown to Chicago and then to Houghton. all on United.

Assuming there will be very good attendance, which will make a difference. I think the box is key, but I disagree with someone who said montpetit will stay home/ Blais will bring the players who he thinks can do the best job of winning, even if they did screw up the week before.
Tech makes bus rides like this 5 times per year, so no whining.

And what hotel? They have hotels in Baraga? Last, Toivu always slows down in Chassell to try and decide if he is stopping there before moving forward at maybe 30 mph, then he honks at you for passing him. I think he's related to the Pietila boys.

I've flown to Omaha from Houghton, it's not too bad about an hour per leg, maybe an hour of layover.

Next season's GLI will be held at Comerica Park. St. Cloud State has been replaced by Western Michigan in the tournament. My guess with it moving outdoors SCSU was kindly asked to see other options.

MMM Bus, I guess they are a like minded school then. The box will be key for sure as will a good crowd.

Maybe they are staying at the casino?

And Toivu only slows down in Chassell to check if the Green Light is open or not.

I'm truly amazed at the power you wield. Can I have a new truck?

I'm a little surprised if St, Clooud got dumped at this late date. But won't be shedding any tears for them.

This thread is lacking in drunken updates. I'm not even talking the type that look as if you turned a hyperactive kindergarten student loose with the keyboard. I'm talking any kind of antics, hyjinks, or SENANICANS. Come on, Tech. You're failing us.
