The scrimmage gives us a chance to see the new guys in action. While I always want a win, todays game is more about the players. They need to show the coach how much they want to be in the starting line up.
It is great to have RPI hockey back.
Lets go red!!!!!

I understand having a scores thread for an exhibition game - like for tomorrow - but for a scrimmage? not even sure what the rules of engagement are for this kind of thing. Unlimited players, substitutions, etc. etc. Do they even keep time for 3 twenty minute periods? i will watch if possible as I am as interested as we all are in seeing the players, but for me this is more like watching a warm up than a game itself.
BTW for those who missed it, our women are still undefeated having tied Bemidji State 1-1 last night (but won the shootout that i did not even know they would have). Hard to judge since i am totally unaware of what kind of competition we were up against, but we are looking a bit better each game!

My recollection was that they kept time last year. They changed players at some point. It may have been that they played 2 30-minute halves. i don't recall. We lost last year to Colgate 4-2, so the score was kept.

So the Union no-longer Dutchmen will take the ice for the first time in competition against an outside opponent.

I understand the rationale that was given for choosing the name Garnet Chargers, and it really doesn't seem like a bad choice.

But if they had wanted to choose a nickname that conveys a sense of intimidation while retaining an association with "Union," there was another choice available.

Forgive me, brothers and sisters in organized labor, but they could have called themselves the Goons. :)

It's early in the season but we have the first entry for post of the year here!

Way too early to tell but Hotsen seems like he has some real potential. We will have to get some sort of organization to the power play and the defense has got to start to talk to each other and communicate where they are. otherwise a typical very early season game with lots of missed passes and shots. Trying to see how our defense stacks up since i believe that will be the key to any success we might have. Face offs as usual we win some and lose some more.
Will see how the next 20 minutes pan out. Are any of the players not suited up?

Good first period. Lots of energy. A couple of good hits and a real good fore check.
Good goaltending and a 1-0 lead.
Keep it up for the next 40 minutes.

I didn't see Lee.
