National award - heck of an accomplishment. S-F article below. Coach quoted : " ...

MacInnis did acknowledge it’s possible several teams in several leagues may try to lure the sniper away from Cornwall. “He’ll have a lot of stuff coming at him (this off-season),’’ the coach said. "

Re: Union Hockey Official off Season Thread: Can U Three Peat?

His stats seem similar to Laliberte's if memory serves.
EASY NOW.... not quite that prolific. :D
JL's final season in Cornwall totalled: 62 63 70 133. But Pontarelli is one heck of a player. Let's just say it wouldn't bother me at all if he got wooed to the "O"..:D

Apples & oranges.. Laliberte played with the Spink twins who were both ~90 point players, the next highest scorer with Pontarelli was barely 60 points and then a big drop off after that. Taking nothing away from Laliberte's numbers which were fantastic, but depends on who you play with. U's Jason Walters was I believe 125+ points in same league because he had a linemate Ryan Lasch that put up even bigger numbers (and became an AA at St. Cloud).

Hopefully this mostly means the USHL and Jr. A teams. However, if I understand things correctly, he is still Major Junior eligible though would need a team that has room for him (only 3 "overage" 20 year olds are allowed per team). Could be another nail biting summer for U fans..

but the year previous saw Laliberte put up.... Jacob Laliberte 1990-09-15 18 C 50 62 48 110 34 ...and the Spink Bros. Tyson Spink 1992-12-31 16 F 61 23 46 69 26
Tylor Spink 1992-12-31 16 C 62 19 39 58 36 ....that's a 41 point difference.

My point exactly, Pontarelli had 107 points without much help and Laliberte had 110.. looks pretty similar to me.

Union 2014 recruit Ryan Scarfo will be playing with Powell River Kings of the BCHL per Elite Prospects.

One of his teammates there should be another 2014 Union recruit, defenseman Noah Henry.

Thanks for the welcome, looking forward to some good fun here about Union and ECAC hockey, long time fan and season ticket holder and great admirer of college hockey.

Union has done very well with kids from Powell - Presizniuk, Wakita, Carr, and the Bodie brothers were all former River Kings. If these 2 turn out to be anywhere close, would be real nice.
